August 8 is going to be an exciting day for Marvel Rivals players, as Blade is finally set to take to the battlefield on that date. Marvel Rivals has been hinting at the Daywalker’s debut since Season 1, when Blade was seemingly imprisoned by Dracula in the Central Park map. In Season 2, players could see Blade napping within the Intergalactic Empire of Wakanda map – at least until a later update removed him, implying that Marvel’s legendary vampire hunter is fully rested and ready to bring justice to the undead once more.

Fans took this as a sign that Blade would finally be playable in the then-upcoming Marvel Rivals Season 3, especially after the game’s developers playfully acknowledged Blade’s disappearance from the Season 2 map. There have also been several leaks hinting at Blade’s Marvel Rivals move set, indicating that the Daywalker will utilize his signature swords, shotguns, and vampiric powers to take down opponents.

In Defense of Marvel Rivals' Handling of Blade

Marvel Rivals didn't deliver Blade when fans expected it to, and while that may have disappointed some, it's better for the game in the long run.

Now Blade has officially been confirmed as the next Marvel Rivals playable character, set to go live on August 8 as part of the game’s Season 3.5 update. A recently released gameplay trailer highlights the Daywalker’s Duelist move set, which indeed consists of stylish sword attacks that might bring Devil May Cry to mind. His Shotgun brings “pressure force” in close range and can reduce enemy healing, while his Ravenous Ancestral Sword unleashes a deadly charge that slashes all foes in his wake.

Marvel Rivals Season 3.5 Blade Release Date

  • August 8, 2025

Blade won’t be the only thing added to Marvel Rivals in the upcoming Season 3.5 update. Several Marvel Rivals Team-Up attacks are getting added, revamped, or removed, and a new game mode called Resource Rumble is being introduced alongside the new Throne of Knull map. Resource Rumble will initially be available in Quick Match starting on August 22, before being rolled out for competitive play as the developers gather player feedback.

In the meantime, Marvel Rivals players have been waiting a long time for Blade to join the game’s ever-growing roster of iconic comic book heroes and villains, and he will finally do so on August 8. In other news, developer NetEase is getting ready to roll out another big Marvel Rivals update on July 31 that will add new skins for Black Panther and Magik, along with other rewards and bug fixes to make the experience even smoother for would-be monster slayers ready to roam the multiverse as the one and only Blade.
