Flying characters are extremely frustrating to fight against in Marvel Rivals, and as the roster continues to grow, it's only going to be a matter of time before there are enough flying characters to fill up a whole team, forcing opponents to look up and keep their aim, tried and true. If players want a solid selection of heroes that are the best at countering flying characters in Marvel Rivals, then check out the selection below so that you can stay on top of the meta and force those pesky fliers to ground themselves as they switch characters to counter you.

Scarlet Witch

Chaos Control Allows Scarlet Witch to Track Targets with Ease

Role

Duelist

Health

250

Difficulty

1/5

Scarlet Witch is an effective counter to flying heroes, as her attacks require no aim or skill to use. Her main attack, Chaos Control, will latch onto the closest target, so players can simply hold down the fire button with no hesitation to see Scarlet Witch leech all of their lifeforce away. While Scarlet Witch's main attack is doing its job, players can also use Chthonian Burst to throw high-damage orbs at the enemy. If enemies are too high up or are attempting to run away, then Mystic Projection comes in clutch to allow Scarlet Witch to follow them while being immune to damage, ensuring that no target is safe from this witch.

Luna Snow

A Strategist with Tracking to Heal and Harm

Role

Strategist

Health

275

Difficulty

2/5

Luna Snow is one of the few viable Strategist characters to use when it comes to fighting flying heroes. Not only will she be a great addition to the team with her healing abilities from Light & Dark Ice, along with her unstoppable Ultimate Ability to provide an impenetrable stream of healing, but her damage against heroes is fairly decent. Luna Snow's tracking hits allow her to be a competent choice with little drop-off from long ranges, meaning her attacks and Absolute Zero blasts will allow her to shoot at enemies with a constant stream of cold death. Whether it's freezing targets in the air or sustaining nice amounts of damage while healing the team, Luna is a must-have for those who need a support that can do the most.

The Punisher

An Easy-to-Use Machine Gun Helps Punish Flying Heroes

Role

Duelist

Health

300

Difficulty

1/5

The Punisher is one of the easiest heroes to pick up, and he's also one of the best in the right situation. The Punisher's normal attacks feature his Adjudication assault rifle and Deliverance shotgun, which are perfect for long-range and close-range engagements. With flying enemies up above, spray and pray with Adjudication, and set up somewhere safe to deploy the Culling Turret to ensure that no flying character will get past your line of defenses. The Punisher's attacks are great for simply staying aggressive on targets, ensuring that they can never fly past into your backline, even if his gameplay is a tad repetitive and simple.

Black Widow

Keep Sights Trained to the Sky for Instant Eliminations

Role

Duelist

Health

250

Difficulty

4/5

Black Widow is not really a meta pick, and it will be hard for her to be included in that category simply because she doesn't have enough survivability to get out of danger or a decent reward when she wins a fight. Therefore, Black Widow should remain behind cover and behind the team's backline, which is why her Red Room Rifle is the perfect gun to make long-range shots at far-away enemies who aren't expected to get shot in the head and killed. Black Widow's rifle is perfect for long-range damage, and an accurate shot is going to make sure that no enemy flies for long before they are shot down by this master assassin.

Hawkeye

Piercing Arrows Penetrate Sky-Dwelling Heroes

Role

Duelist

Health

275

Difficulty

4/5

Hawkeye never misses, and armed with his bow and quiver, he makes good with his words (so long as players are skilled enough to use him). Hawkeye's main attacks are his Piercing Arrows, which see him shoot powerful arrows that are even stronger if they hit a critical spot. Hawkeye has a lot of versatility with his many different arrows, and the fact that he can do a Skyward Leap to get to higher ground really helps him stay on top of the competition as he shoots down his flying targets. Even better still is his team-up with Luna Snow, where his Ice Arrow will see him freeze targets midair so that everyone can take a nice shot at these flying fiends.

Hela

Nightsword Thorns Stick to Enemies High and Far

Role

Duelist

Health

250

Difficulty

3/5

Hela proves that she's the feared Goddess of Death with her main method of attack, the Nightsword Thorns. These powerful blades provide Hela with a plethora of swords to throw, with decent damage and ammo. The Nightsword Thorn reaches near and far, and with their decent tracking, players don't need to have the aim of a talented Black Widow to strike opponents. Hela also has great survival abilities with Soul Drainer and Astral Flock, which allow her to make her own moves on the battlefield without being so reliant on the backline to get those pesky flying heroes down and out for the count.

Iron Fist

Glue to Enemies with Unrelenting Punches

Role

Duelist

Health

300

Difficulty

4/5

Before flying characters became a real nuisance, there was Iron Fist, the OG annoyance that plagued the early days of launch. Now, Iron Fist might still be incredibly annoying to fight against, but he serves a greater purpose in making flying heroes rage. Iron Fist's punches will stick to enemies like glue, requiring practically no aim as players continuously spam the button to punch and kick at enemies while they desperately try to fly away, only for Iron Fist to stick close by with each fist and jump from his Crane Leap. If players want more damage and to heal mid-fight, then Harmony Recovery and Dragon's Defense ensure that Iron Fist is never out of the fight for long, so that he can continue to juggle enemies in the air so that they either die or ground themselves.

Namor

Deploy Turrets and Tridents to Keep Enemies at Bay

Role

Duelist

Health

250

Difficulty

2/5

Namor may have dominion over the seas, but his abilities will show that he can have dominion over the sky as well. Despite the wings on his feet, Namor can't actually fly in-game like he can in the comics, but that doesn't stop him from being a great counter to those pesky flying characters that he's definitely not jealous of. With Namor's Trident of Neptune, he can throw it far for some lethal damage, especially with critical hits. Namor can also control certain zones with his Aquatic Dominion ability to send forth helpful octopuses that will blast any enemy with a continuing beam of death (especially when paired with Hulk for the Gamma Monstro ability). Namor has incredible zoning potential to keep enemies away from the point, and his ranged attacks will ensure that flying characters cannot get around him.

Spider-Man

A Skilful Web-Head for Sticking to Enemies

Role

Duelist

Health

250

Difficulty

5/5

Spider-Man is not an easy hero to learn, but a truly masterful Spider-Man will force every flying hero to switch out with immense frustration. Balancing Spider-Man's Web-Swing with his Get Over Here! And Web-Cluster attacks will see enemies constantly pressured to land on the ground and fly away to their backline, showcasing that Spider-Man uses his great power to help the team move up. Spider-Man's agile abilities and weave of webs allow him to maintain an aggressive playstyle for players who are familiar with his mechanics, and being able to constantly stay in the air to web, punch, and swing into flying enemies ensures that they're going to be more annoyed by his attacks than his quips.
