Marvel Rivals' Season 1 Buffs and Nerfs Set Expectations NetEase Will Have to Keep Meeting

Marvel Rivals has made a few changes to characters with a Season 1 balance patch, but the buffs and nerfs may be a tough act to follow in the future.

The latest strategy to make waves in the player community involves the newly added Invisible Woman and Marvel Rivals Strategist powerhouse Doctor Strange. As demonstrated by player Iceblood on Reddit, the new trick involves the Invisible Woman (played by Iceblood) waiting near the enemy spawn entrance, pinging a location off to the side of the door where Doctor Strange places his entry portal, with the exit portal aimed off the map. As the enemy team exits the spawn, Iceblood uses the Invisible Woman's Force Physics ability to push an entire group of enemies through the portal and off the map, resulting in a huge mass elimination and an early lead for their team.

Brilliant Marvel Rivals Portal Trick Turns Invisible Woman and Doctor Strange Into Power Couple

Despite the viral hilarity of various Doctor Strange portal tricks, many players have been getting used to the most common gimmicks used by the Master of the Mystic Arts. However, the addition of the Invisible Woman to the roster has added a new level of tactical deviousness to the now-standard gambits. With her ability to push and pull players with her powers, the Invisible Woman can take advantage of players who are aware of the more common Doctor Strange portal tricks and "seal the deal" by forcing them through the entry. She can also pull enemies through her Strange's portal and into an unfavorable situation, allowing teams to separate or isolate enemies for focused takedowns.

Players were highly amused by the new gambit, eagerly calling the Invisible Woman the best new Marvel Rivals character. Others recalled fond memories of other physics-enabled fun in competitive shooters, like playing as Roadhog or Lucio in Overwatch and appreciating the abilities that the Invisible Woman brings to the table in the Marvel Rivals context. A few even joked that the new pairing of Doctor Strange and the Invisible Woman makes for a new Marvel Rivals "power couple" to rival the canonical marriage of Susan Storm to Reed Richards (Mister Fantastic) in Marvel fiction.
