Marvel Rivals has united fans of comics and hero shooters, allowing players to team-up with classic Marvel heroes and villains in 6v6 combat. After seeing massive success, Marvel Rivals has recently entered Season 2, adding new characters and content for players to enjoy.

Included in the Season 2 update is the Hellfire Gala: Krakoa domination map, the sentient island and home for Earth’s mutants. Many of the Marvel Rivals maps include Easter eggs for long-time fans, some of which may be nothing more than a simple acknowledgement, but others seem to be hinting at something more. It can be difficult to pick out all the small details amidst the heat of battle, but the Krakoa map is home to a reference that is easy to spot, and may spark hope for X-Men fans as the game approaches its third season.

Rumor: Marvel Rivals Leak Reveals 5 New Characters

A prominent Marvel Rivals leaker claims to have found evidence of five new playable characters coming to NetEase Games' popular hero shooter.

Hints That Jubilee Could Be Added in Season 3

Shogo Lee Easter Egg on Krakoa

When contesting for the Carousel mission area on Marvel Rivals’ Krakoa map, a dragon can be seen soaring above before perching on a swing. This character is Shogo Lee, the adoptive son of Jubilee. Though he can normally only assume the form of a dragon in the Otherworld pocket dimension, but with Marvel Rivals establishing its own rules and lore, it could be possible that this is his permanent form in this universe.

Shogo’s presence makes a strong case for his mother to join the cast and support her team. Season 2’s Hellfire Gala is directly tied to the X-Men, and with evidence pointing to Season 3 including more mutants, it’s very likely that players will be able to light up the battlefield with Jubilee’s fireworks in the next season.

Jubilee's Appearance in a Recent Marvel Rivals Comic Seems Telling

While the Shogo Easter egg alone is strong enough evidence for Jubilee being added in Season 3, there are still more official hints that she is on the way. Marvel Rivals has a series of tie-in comics, expanding on the lore of the game’s characters and providing additional context to the stories of each season. To connect with Season 2, Marvel Rivals Infinity Comic #7 focuses on the Hellfire Gala, revealing the game’s main cast in runway-ready outfits, many of which are available to acquire in-game from Marvel Rivals’ Flower of Krakoa Battle Pass. Alongside these familiar faces, there are some characters in the background that have yet to appear in the game itself. One of these characters is unmistakably Jubilee, wearing the same dress from the Marvel Comics 2021 Hellfire Gala event. Two back-to-back nods to the character are unlikely to be a coincidence, so Jubilee fans have good reason to be excited.

These two pieces of evidence seem to be setting players up for Jubilee’s appearance in Season 3 (or a following Season), but there is one more hint to consider that all-but-sets this in stone. Recently, a Marvel Rivals leak revealed 3 X-Men members would join the roster, with one of these being Jubilee. If this leak turns out to be true, it seems as though Season 3 will follow the trend set by the Hellfire Gala event by continuing the X-Men theme. With everything pointing toward Jubilee, fans may be able to play as her very soon.

Leaks aren’t always guaranteed to be correct, so it is understandable that players may not want to get their hopes up too soon. However, some Marvel Rivals Season 2 leaks have already proven to be true. When considering that, as well as the nods to Jubilee already in the game and official comic, this leak seems convincing.

Marvel Rivals’ New Krakoa Map Can’t Leave One Mutant Too Far Behind

Marvel Rivals Season 2 is adding a new map to the hero shooter based on the living island of Krakoa, and one Mutant shouldn't be too far behind it.

What Players Could Expect From Jubilee

With the Duelist role being oversaturated with playable characters, it is much more likely that Jubilee would fit a supportive role as a Strategist. This aligns well with Jubilee as a character; though she is capable of causing massive explosions, she often restricts her abilities, using her fireworks mostly as flashbangs or for concussion. Jubilee is also able to re-absorb the energy from her abilities, so this could mean that she could counter an enemy Jubilee’s abilities on the other team. Jubilee often doesn’t have healing abilities, so her Strategist position may be more for support than healing. NetEase is willing to adapt Marvel characters in unique ways though, so there is a chance that this universe’s Jubilee may have fireworks that can heal too.

Jubiliee’s abilities may not be limited to fireworks. One interesting take could be to give her vampire powers. Though some comic fans were not keen on this iteration of Jubilee, giving her these abilities could help to differentiate her from the rest of the current cast. Blade has been teased in Marvel Rivals’ story multiple times, so releasing a vampire alongside the vampire hunter could be an interesting move. The developers could also draw upon her abilities as Wondra, or even take inspiration from her thieving skills.

All these hints pointing specifically at Jubilee’s arrival in Marvel Rivals make it seem like her addition as a playable character could be an inevitability. NetEase’s plan to release Marvel Rivals characters sooner, starting with Season 3, could mean that fans of Jubilee may be able to support their team with her very soon. There is a vast catalog of X-Men characters the developers could choose from, so if Season 3 is themed around X-Men characters, it might not be long before players can control their other favorite mutants as well. At the same time, this is only speculation, as no official information about which characters will be added next season has been shared.

In the meantime, Marvel Rivals players can enjoy Season 2, looking out for Shogo and the other X-Men Easter eggs on the Krakoa map. There are also plans for Marvel Rivals to have mid-season changes in the near future, so players should expect to adjust their playstyle to accommodate potential buffs and nerfs. Ultron has also been teased, and is likely to be fully playable by May 30, 2025, giving fans the chance to learn all of his nuances before Jubilee is potentially added in Season 3.
