Players may have new cosmetics to look forward to in Marvel Rivals, with a leak indicating both Moon Knight and Squirrel Girl may be getting new skins in the near future. These leaks follow plenty of other rumors and theories as to what and/or who may get added to Marvel Rivals in the future, with the game about to officially launch its Season 1 content cycle.

Released just over two weeks ago, Marvel Rivals has effectively dominated the hero shooter genre, thanks in large part to its long list of iconic Marvel characters, as well as its unique presentation and gameplay. As is the case with a lot of free-to-play titles nowadays, Marvel Rivals employs a live-service model similar to what players have grown accustomed to in other games like Fortnite, with new maps and presumably characters set to release soon. New content updates in Marvel Rivals will likely include new skins as well, with a leak seeming to indicate two characters will soon be getting some rather unique outfits.

A potential new Marvel Rivals leak shared by RivalsLeak claims both Moon Knight and Squirrel Girl may soon be getting new skins. Marvel Rivals already features a large number of skins for its equally large roster, but few totally transform the character in the way that these leaks suggest. Both Moon Knight and Squirrel Girl are decked out in gear evocative of traditional Chinese patterns and aesthetics, seemingly pointing to a possible Chinese New Year mini-update for Marvel Rivals later down the line. Chinese New Year begins January 29, 2025, placing it right in the middle of Marvel Rivals' upcoming Season 1 update.

Marvel Rivals Leak Reveals Possible Moon Knight and Squirrel Girl Skins

If this is the case, Moon Knight and Squirrel Girl are likely just the tip of the iceberg, with plenty more Chinese New Year-themed skins set to arrive soon. Players can unlock skins in different ways in Marvel Rivals, with the game featuring a battle pass as well as an in-game storefront. Players can earn credits to spend on the game's premium battle pass but can also spend real money to get Lattice, one of Marvel Rivals' many currencies, to purchase cosmetics as well.

As stated earlier, Marvel Rivals will soon be entering its first official season of content, which is expected to launch sometime in January. Players can enjoy Season 0 now, as well as Marvel Rivals' upcoming winter event, which is all about Jeff the Land Shark. Dubbed Jeff's Winter Splash Festival, this new festive event will give players a lot to enjoy and explore ahead of Christmas. The event begins on December 20 and lasts through January 9, likely making way for Season 1 of Marvel Rivals to roll out at a later date.
