Summary

  • Fans criticize Moon Knight's ultimate ability in Marvel Rivals.
  • Moon Knight's Hand of Khonshu ability strikes quickly and is difficult to counter due to audio cue timing.
  • NetEase Games is open to player feedback, meaning a possible nerf for Moon Knight's ability in Marvel Rivals could come in the future.

Marvel Rivals fans are unhappy about Moon Knight's ultimate ability, with many stating that it is too overpowered and difficult to evade, unlike some of the other heroes in the game. Moon Knight has been one of the most popular DPS characters in Marvel Rivals, and he can be extremely annoying to counter if players don't have a few tricks up their sleeves.

Marvel Rivals has cemented its place in the hero-shooter genre in a short span of time. The developers also recently released a massive update, adding characters from the Fantastic Four in Marvel Rivals. However, it seems like players are having a tough time dealing with one of the original characters in the Marvel Rivals roster.

Marvel Rivals Player Reaches Grandmaster Rank Without Doing Any Damage

A Marvel Rivals player reveals how they were able to advance to Grandmaster 3 rank without doing a single point of damage while playing.

In a new post on the game's subreddit, user SjurEido highlights an inherent flaw in the ultimate ability of Moon Knight in Marvel Rivals. Moon Knight's ultimate ability is known as Hand of Khonshu, and it basically bombards enemies with a bunch of talons in a given radius. Each of these does 75 damage per hit. While it might not sound as lethal on paper, the attack is next to impossible to evade if players are caught in its radius, as the talons spawn really fast, and moving around would mean that they will get hit by more of them. The area the talons impact is quite large as well. While the damage is quite annoying to deal with, a majority of fans think that it is the audio cue that makes things trickier, as it is extremely short.

Marvel Rivals Fans Want Moon Knight's Ultimate Audio to Be Changed

Every ultimate ability in Marvel Rivals is associated with a voice line, which gives players a warning before the ultimate attack lands. This is by far the most reliable way of countering these attacks. For instance, Scarlet Witch's ultimate ability in Marvel Rivals can be quite lethal, but one can counter it fairly easily since players can quickly switch their attention to her after hearing her voice line. However, when it comes to Moon Knight, the attack starts executing even before the voice lines get completed, making it one of the hardest abilities to counter.

The good news is that NetEase Games is quite receptive to player feedback, and is constantly implementing changes to Marvel Rivals. For instance, the recent Marvel Rivals Season 1 update made a plethora of changes to heroes and their abilities, with some overpowered characters getting much-deserved nerfs. The likes of Hawkeye have already got significant nerfs, and it remains to be seen whether Moon Knight will be next.
