Marvel Rivals has revealed new skins for Ultron and Groot that will be released on May 30. The cosmetics are part of the mid-season update for Marvel Rivals Season 2, a patch that will bring other equally anticipated changes.
The second Marvel Rivals season has added a variety of skins so far. One of the most talked-about was the new Doctor Strange skin, which is based on Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and turns the Sorcerer Supreme into the zombie version seen in the MCU movie. Punisher and Namor also received new skins: the popular Marvel Rivals Duelist got the Dangan Ronin outfit, giving him Japanese-themed armor. The King of the Seas, meanwhile, received a nostalgic skin, giving him the classic yellow and blue X-Men outfit. This time Marvel Rivals has revealed that new skins are on the way, and when players can buy them.

Marvel Rivals Season 2.5 is an overhaul overall, but support/strategist characters in particular seem to be receiving much-needed defensive options.
In a recent post on Twitter, Marvel Rivals revealed the new skins for Ultron and Groot that will be available starting on May 30 at 7 pm PT. Groot's skin is called Yggroot and gives the Guardians of the Galaxy member an impressive makeover in gray and silver, quite reminiscent of its giant version seen in the 2022 series Mech Strike: Monster Hunters #5. Ultron, meanwhile, will receive a skin called X-Tron, which transforms the character into an even more lethal version with an Iron Man-esque reactor on its chest, a red cape, and other changes to its robotic body. According to the story of the NetEase shooter, it's the form that Ultron takes after stealing X-Men's Cerebro from Krakoa, turning Arakko into a “merciless mechanical world."
Marvel Rivals Introduces New Groot “Yggroot” and Ultron “X-Tron” Skins
At the time of this writing, NetEase hasn't revealed how much the new Ultron and Groot skins will cost when they debut in the game's store. However, with the cosmetics scheduled to drop next week, new information is expected to be shared soon. The devs also haven't said whether other items related to the skins will be available on May 30. However, as with other Marvel Rivals skins, the Ultron and Groot outfits should potentially receive stickers, nameplates, and more.
Fans hoping for even more engaging content won't be disappointed. Ultron's debut in Marvel Rivals will take place on May 30, the same date on which the map of Arakko, Krakoa's sister nation, will be added. Another feature coming to Marvel Rivals soon is a new game mode inspired by Auto Chess.
