Marvel Rivals Patch Notes for October 16 Have a Clear Winner

NetEase Games has given players their first look at the patch notes for Marvel Rivals' October 16 update, which includes new skins for the Vanguard Thor and the Duelist Squirrel Girl. Marvel Rivals is currently in the middle of Season 4, which recently added Angela and Daredevil to the popular hero shooter's ever-expanding roster.

It was recently revealed that cross-progression will be coming to Marvel Rivals in the near future, but some players may need to wait longer than others to experience the new feature. Gamers looking to carry their progress across multiple platforms may want to consider filling out a short form provided by NetEase Games. Players have until October 20 to fill out the application, which will give them a chance to participate in early access for cross-progression. Gamers who submit the form should keep an eye on their in-game mail, as NetEase Games will send an invitation to those who have been chosen to test out the new feature by October 23. It's worth noting that cross-progression should launch for everyone during Season 5, which is scheduled to begin on November 14.

Squirrel Girl Is the Star of Marvel Rivals’ October 16 Update

Cross-progression isn't the only new feature players have to look forward to, as NetEase Games revealed that its October 16 patch has added a "voice changing system" to the hero shooter. This feature allows players to go into system settings and alter the way they sound when interacting with others through voice chat. Perhaps most notably, the update also includes fresh Formula R skins for both Squirrel Girl and Thor in Marvel Rivals.

Thor's new Lightning Fast costume shows the Vanguard sporting a white tank top with a blue and red jacket tied around his waist. Meanwhile, many fans seem particularly excited about the Turbo Tailwind skin for Squirrel Girl in Marvel Rivals. This fresh style has Squirrel Girl showing off her bold, indigo-colored hair that spills out under a black hat with a yellow Oscorp logo on the front. Likewise, Squirrel Girl's tail has been given a blue and white makeover with black stripes running through it.

The Turbo Tailwind costume is an exciting addition for Squirrel Girl mains, as the bold, eye-catching coloring fits the character's bright, whimsical nature. Gamers looking to get their hands on the new Formula R cosmetics will only be able to do so for a limited time, as both Thor's Lightning Fast skin and Squirrel Girl's Turbo Tailwind costume will only be in the game's shop until November 14. Gamers still have plenty to look forward to during the month of October, as Marvel Rivals' upcoming Halloween skins should begin making their way into the game on October 24. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
