Marvel Rivals players have come together to express their frustration with playing Vanguard heroes after the game's Season 2.5 update. The most recent Marvel Rivals update added a variety of new features to the game, including the new playable character Ultron.

Ultron is a flying Strategist in Marvel Rivals, which means he has joined other flying heroes like Iron Man, Storm, and Human Torch. In fact, Ultron has a special team-up with Iron Man what allows him to utilize the Duelist's unibeam for a short period of time. While many players were initially excited to play as Ultron, some people were concerned about the hero's balance after watching early footage of him in action. Many gamers felt that he needed a major buff, as his ultimate ability seemed to deal very little damage when compared to other heroes. Since his release, some members of the community have been debating his viability, with some stating that the hero really shines when on a team with two other Strategists.

Marvel Rivals Adding Weapon X Skin for Wolverine

Marvel Rivals surprises players by revealing a new Weapon X skin for the Duelist Wolverine in NetEase Games' popular hero shooter.

In a recent post on Reddit, SbeveGobs posted that NetEase Games has made playing a Vanguard in Marvel Rivals a miserable experience. Other players seemed to agree, and the heart of the problem appears to be the sheer number of flying heroes. With four flying characters in the game, an enemy team can be mostly composed of foes that are in the air. Aside from Peni Parker, most Vanguards are unable to deal with enemies flying way above them, as they lack ranged abilities. While this problem isn't immediately apparent on maps with a lot of tight areas, any location with wide open spaces can give flying heroes a serious advantage.

Marvel Rivals’ Vanguards Are Having Trouble Against Flying Heroes

In another post on Reddit, MrUnderman pointed out that the presence of so many flying heroes has severely impacted the viability of The Thing, especially since his ultimate ability requires foes to be on the ground. Several people commented that Vanguard players shouldn't have to worry about flying enemies too much, as the team's ranged Duelists in Marvel Rivals should be able to counter them. However, many Vanguards still expressed frustration over the situation.

NetEase Games recently revealed that it will be releasing a new game mode in Marvel Rivals on June 6. The fresh mode is called Ultron's Battle Matrix Protocol, and it will require players to approach the mode with an emphasis on strategy. Instead of controlling one character, players will choose full teams to face off against opponents on a tactical grid. It's unlike anything that has been seen in the popular hero shooter before, which has some people excited. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
