Summary
- Fans worry about the Strategist Ultron being underpowered in Marvel Rivals.
- Players can purchase an upcoming Combat Chest for 690 Lattice.
- Marvel Rivals major update on May 30 also includes a new map of the island Arakko.
Marvel Rivals players are already worried that the upcoming flying Strategist Ultron may need to receive significant buffs, even though he hasn't been officially released yet. NetEase Games recently revealed that it will be launching Marvel Rivals' major mid-season update on May 30, which will bring a wide variety of new features to the popular hero shooter.
During a recent preview event, content creators gave players their first look at Combat Chests in Marvel Rivals. The Combat Chest seems to function similarly to a battle pass, though it's a bit smaller in size, scope, and cost. Gamers will be able to purchase the Combat Chest for 690 Lattice, which will give them access to all of the included items. Like the battle pass, purchased Combat Chests do not expire and can be unlocked at the player's own pace. Fans can progress the Combat Chest by playing matches, which is different from the battle pass where players need to earn and spend Chrono Tokens to receive rewards. Those who don't purchase the Combat Chest are still eligible to receive free rewards, like a new costume for the Duelist Mister Fantastic.
Marvel Rivals Reveals Season 2.5 Update Patch Notes
Marvel Rivals gives players a first look at the changes they can expect to see when NetEase Games launches its major Season 2.5 update on May 30.
In a recent post on Reddit, mrdunklestein stated that they're already worried that the upcoming Strategist Ultron in Marvel Rivals may not be powerful enough. After viewing a recent early access stream where content creators were able to play Ultron, mrdunklestein broke down their observations and came to the conclusion that Ultron seems to be a little weak. According to them, even Ultron's ultimate ability doesn't deal as much damage as a normal shot from the Duelist Hawkeye. However, they did state that Ultron's ultimate ability also provides a significant amount of healing to allies who are hit by it.
Marvel Rivals’ Ultron May Be Too Weak
In another post on Reddit, RuinedViego16 expressed similar concerns, stating that some content creators feel Ultron may be the weakest Strategist in Marvel Rivals. In fact, some people claimed he may even be the weakest hero in the game. However, RuinedViego16 also noted that this seems to be in-line with a pattern NetEase Games has when releasing flying heroes. According to them, the developers often release such heroes in an underpowered state and then provide them with buffs to balance them out later.
While many fans do seem concerned about Ultron's balance in Marvel Rivals' upcoming May 30 update, others believe that the hero needs to be put in the hands of the community before they can truly say whether he's too weak. In addition to a new character, gamers will also be able to play on the new Arakko map, which is a sister island to the Krakoa map that was released at the beginning of Season 2: Hellfire Gala. With so much content to enjoy and even more on the way, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
