A hero shooter developed by NetEase, Marvel Rivals was first released in early December 2024. The game was originally only available on the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Nearly a year later, Marvel Rivals made its way to the PlayStation 4, which it had reached on September 12, 2025.

Marvel Rivals Celebrates PS4 Launch With Free Iron Man Skin

NetEase is commemorating the hero shooter's PS4 launch with a free cosmetic. Specifically, the company is offering the Iron Man Armor Model 42 skin that was previously available in Marvel Rivals at launch. It can be claimed in-game via a fresh promo code: SNMRIronman. The process requires opening the Settings menu, selecting "Bundle Code," and inputting the code itself. As per usual, the game will show a preview of the item before asking for confirmation to add it. From there, the skin will be available in the inventory. The offer is available until December 17, 2025.

While the freebie is framed as a celebration of the Marvel Rivals PS4 launch, it is reportedly available across every version of the hero shooter. Fans playing on multiple platforms will still need to redeem it several times, as Marvel Rivals doesn't have cross-progression. The offer itself serves as a simple hook to bring new and lapsed players to the game without significant investment as the skin itself was already designed and implemented.

With over 117 million confirmed sales as of late 2022, the PlayStation 4 is the fifth best-selling video game console of all time. Marvel Rivals' arrival on Sony's last-gen system thus significantly broadens its potential reach. The port also coincides with the start of Marvel Rivals Season 4. Dubbed "Heart of the Dragon," the new season is set to introduce a plethora of content, including a new Fruit of Immortality Battle Pass and another Angela costume. Half a dozen arcade modes are also part of the package, with two of them—Consquest (Annihilation) and Free Fight—being brand-new additions the the game.

Even More Marvel Rivals Freebies Are Currently Available

The current list of Marvel Rivals freebies extends beyond Iron Man; Season 4 Twitch Drops offer Balde's Will of Galacta set, up to a full costume after four hours of watching a partnered stream until October 10. Furthermore, between September 18 and October 17, the Summer Special Vol. 2 event will let players earn The Thing's Rocky Tide skin at no cost by completing missions. That's on top of the rotating free cosmetics available as part of the College Student Perks program that launched during Marvel Rivals Season 3.
