While Marvel Rivals already brings a ton of new content with the arrival of Season 1, including The Fantastic Four as new playable heroes, even more could be in store for the hero shooter if rumors are true. Marvel Rivals leaks have been sweeping the community, suggesting everything from new playable characters to potential new game modes are in the works. With the previously leaked Fantastic Four now proven to be true, a pair of Marvel Rivals leaks could point toward an exciting Season 2 addition.

Prior to the confirmation of The Fantastic Four coming with Marvel Rivals Season 1, many players expected Ultron to headline the season with his addition. Like The Fantastic Four, Ultron was one of the characters who had been leaked via a datamine before the game's official launch, suggesting he would be joining the roster in the near future. However, the recent rumor that his addition has been pushed back to Season 2 could be a blessing in disguise if another rumor regarding a new PvE mode turns out to be true.

Marvel Rivals has experienced leaks for a variety of upcoming playable characters, and Ultron's leaks have been some of the most extensive by far.

Marvel Rivals' Ultron and PvE Leaks Could Coalesce at the Perfect Time

Season 2 Adding PvE Alongside Ultron Would Be a Match Made in Heaven

After Overwatch 2 canceled its lofty PvE plans, all eyes are on Marvel Rivals to see if it can pick up the pieces Blizzard dropped. A recent leak suggests the game will be capitalizing on this chance, with rumors claiming that Marvel Rivals is testing a PvE mode for the game, to be added at a later date. While it's unclear what the scope of this mode will be, getting in on the ground floor with a PvE mode early into the game's life would do wonders for its staying power, so Season 2 could be the perfect target for this mode's release.

Though this is still just speculation, if Marvel Rivals really wants to up the ante with its Season 2 offerings, releasing both a PvE mode alongside a playable Ultron would be a great way to do it. Based on Ultron's leaked kit, the character appears to be a Strategist who utilizes drones to provide health buff for teammates. While this would make for an interesting playable character, it could also make Ultron the perfect character to design a PvE mode around.

Other characters leaked for Marvel Rivals include Angela, Hit-Monkey, Deadpool, Captain Marvel, Emma Frost, Jean Grey, Valkyrie, and MODOK.

Why Ultron is the Perfect Villain to Introduce PvE With

Ultron and PvE hitting Marvel Rivals at the same time would be the ideal scenario since Ultron's ability to control Ultron Drones could create a scenario where players need to team up to fight off waves of these enemies. With Ultron's kit seeming to revolve around supporting teammates with health buffs, facing off against wave after wave of Ultrons that can heal one another could make for a tough challenge for Marvel Rivals players to overcome. The result could look something like the iconic scene from Avengers: Age of Ultron where the team is forced to battle an onslaught of Ultron Drones.

While having a playable character also appear as a seasonal villain would be treading new ground for Marvel Rivals, the introduction of PvE could warrant such a change. Ultron also provides a logical reason for PvE to include battles against already playable characters thanks to his history of fighting alongside Ultron Drone replicas of himself in other Marvel media. Introducing a new character alongside a mode that pits players against that character would be the one-two punch Marvel Rivals Season 2 may need to top the content it has offered players so far.
