Some players are having issues using the new graphics setting in Marvel Rivals following the game's new Season 2 update. While excitement for the new update is high, with Season 2 bringing Emma Frost and an abundance of other changes with it, the actual Marvel Rivals client is not operating correctly for some PC players, causing a few headaches.

Marvel Rivals has enjoyed a steady stream of content updates, overhauls, and balance changes in the relatively short amount of time it's been available, with developer NetEase making it clear it wants to continue to support the live service free-to-play game for as long as it can. Players have already seen new characters like The Thing and The Human Torch make their Marvel Rivals debut, with several more heroes and villains rumored for future updates. Season 2 of the game just released, making a number of changes of its own, though PC players are now encountering an issue when launching Marvel Rivals.

Reddit user Connect-Mortgage2938 shared a post informing others how to get the Marvel Rivals launcher to appear before startup, a common bug following the launch of Season 2. It's unknown what exactly causes this issue, but it essentially means players are not able to turn on the new Switch Shader Compilation feature, which was added to boost FPS. This new feature can only be turned on from the client itself, meaning the bug locks out players from being able to select it. The Marvel Rivals community is quite vocal about changes and updates, with this being no exception, as the game's Reddit page has seen multiple posts similar to the one below.

NetEase has not directly addressed this issue, leaving a solution up to the community. Thankfully, there is a way around this, and it's quite simple. All players need to do to get the launcher to show up is to verify the game files for Marvel Rivals on Steam. Until an actual fix is issued, players will have to make do, though Marvel Rivals Season 2 features more than enough to keep fans happy. Not only has Emma Frost made her debut, but so has a new map, Hellfire Gala, as have several changes to Marvel Rivals' competitive mode.

Season 2 follows the successful and action-packed Season 1 of Marvel Rivals, which saw the addition of The Fantastic Four, as well as a new free-for-all game mode called Doom Match. Of course, with the launch of Season 2 comes a new battle pass to progress through, which features rewards such as new skins, stickers, nameplates, and more. Marvel Rivals Season 2 also marks the launch of a new season event, Cerebro Database, which tasks players with competing challenges using Black Panther, Namor, Wolverine, and the shiny new Emma Frost herself.
