Summary
- Season 2 of Marvel Rivals will bring new team-ups and changes, enhancing combat.
- New team-ups will be added along with changing some existing ones.
- Director Chen confirms content plans through Season 4, promising ongoing engagement.
Marvel Rivals has confirmed that the second season will change the team-ups. Marvel Rivals caught the attention of gamers for bringing together iconic comic book heroes and villains. Another reason that made the NetEase shooter popular is the team-ups, a mechanic that adds an extra twist to matches.
Team-ups in Marvel Rivals are a feature that allows two or more characters to combine their powers, unlocking extra abilities and/or buffs. One team-up that became quite popular is the Special Fastball, an ability that Hulk and Wolverine unlock if they are on the same team, allowing the Emerald Giant to throw Logan. Referencing one of the best-known friendships in comics, if Black Widow has Hawkeye as a teammate, Clint shares his Hunter's Sight with Natasha through the Supersensory Hunt team-up.
Marvel Rivals Players Name the Game's 4 Most Annoying Characters
A Marvel Rivals player points out the four most annoying characters in the game, and players debate why it's so difficult to deal with them.
Now, Marvel Rivals has confirmed that the shooter's second season will see changes to the team-ups. In an interview with PC Gamer, director Guangyun Chen said that the next Marvel Rivals season will introduce new team-ups and make changes to existing ones. Chen didn't give further details about which skills will be adjusted and which will be added. However, he emphasized that by adding the shake-up in team-ups, and introducing a new round of balancing with the seasonal update, the result will be the creation of “a new combat environment and experience.”
Players Eagerly Look Forward to Marvel Rivals Season 2
Chen also said that Season 2's content is “ready and set to go,” raising anticipation about what's in store. Much has been speculated about the next season of the NetEase shooter, most notably that its theme will be the Hellfire Gala, the annual comic book event celebrating mutant culture. Because of this, there is evidence that Emma Frost will make her Marvel Rivals debut due to her prominent role in the Hellfire Club. It is unknown what Emma's role will be, but the biggest bet among players is that Emma will be a Vanguard due to her diamond form, which guarantees her high durability. In addition, fans are waiting for Blade to join the game as another Season 2 addition, as previous leaks have revealed evidence of the vampire hunter's arrival.
With rumors that the second season of Marvel Rivals will begin in April, players hope the coming weeks will bring new leaks or even official information. Looking beyond that, Chen also used the interview to confirm content plans through Marvel Rivals Season 4, demonstrating that the devs are actively working to deliver an engaging experience for all players.
