After many Marvel Rivals fans expressed concerns over the upcoming changes being made to Thor and Jeff the Land Shark, NetEase Games publicly addressed the issue. It was recently announced that Marvel Rivals will be receiving a major Season 2.5 update on May 30, which will come with numerous features, balance changes, and cosmetics.
After announcing the major update, the developers revealed a wide variety of balance changes coming to Marvel Rivals on May 30 as well. As always, the developers have stated that they're making changes in order to ensure a fair and balanced experience for all players. Some heroes, like Doctor Strange and Hawkeye, will be receiving buffs to the amount of damage they can put out when facing enemies on the battlefield. Meanwhile, characters like Captain America have received slight nerfs, with his in particular reducing the amount of base health available to him. While many of these changes often spark debates within the community, the most recent set of changes made some players particularly concerned about the future of Thor and Jeff the Land Shark in the popular hero shooter.
Marvel Rivals Players Are Already Worried About Ultron
Marvel Rivals players are already expressing their concerns about the upcoming Strategist Ultron in NetEase Games' popular hero shooter.
In a recent post on Twitter, NetEase Games acknowledged the "enthusiastic discussions" that have been taking place within the community regarding changes to Thor and Jeff the Land Shark in Marvel Rivals. In an effort to share their vision with players, the developers prepared a statement and video going over the reworks, which seem to be much more complex than straight nerfs or buffs. From what can be seen, the rework to Thor places a lot of importance on the Vanguard being able to stay in his Awakened Rune state for longer periods of time. This allows him to deal significant damage to enemies both near and far. However, it does seem as if his Hammer Throw is a bit weaker as a result.
Marvel Rivals Showcases Thor and Jeff Changes
The most significant change to Jeff the Land Shark in Marvel Rivals appears to be the rework of Joyful Splash. Previously, this ability allowed Jeff to lay down a consistent stream of healing water to allies within range. Now, in addition to healing allies, Joyful Splash damages enemies. The move also pierces both friends and foes, allowing Jeff the Land Shark to continually heal and deal damage, which increases the rate at which his ultimate ability recharges.
While some fans still seem to be skeptical of the changes being made to Jeff the Land Shark and Thor in Marvel Rivals, others feel that the demonstration showed just how viable the two heroes will remain. A lot of people have said that they will need to wait and see exactly how the heroes function for themselves after the major update on May 30. With so much content to enjoy and even more just around the corner, many fans are feeling optimistic about the future of Marvel Rivals.
