Summary

  • Marvel Rivals may add Ultron as a Strategist in Season 1, with an ability kit featuring lasers and drones.
  • 20 million people have played Marvel Rivavls since its release in early December.
  • Many fans are excited about the prospect of another Strategist coming to the game, as some feel the hero shooter is currently overrun with Duelists.

A prominent Marvel Rivals leaker reveals that the villain Ultron may be coming to the hero shooter in Season 1 as a Strategist, going on to detail the character's ability kit. As of this writing, there are 33 characters within the roster of Marvel Rivals. All of these heroes and villains belong to one of three roles: Vanguard, Duelist, or Strategist. Vanguards are typically capable of blocking or taking a lot of damage, while Duelists dish out damage most efficiently. Strategists fill a support role within the game, providing heals and buffs while also mixing in attacks when they can.

NetEase Games recently celebrated a big milestone, revealing that 20 million people have played Marvel Rivals since its launch in early December. This comes shortly after announcing that the game was downloaded more than 10 million times within 72 hours of its release. While fans have had some complaints about balancing within the title, many players have been enthusiastically positive about their experience.

The prominent Marvel Rivals leaker RivalsLeaks posted a picture on Twitter of Ultron's ability kit, revealing that the villain will likely be a Strategist within the game. While RivalsLeaks previously claimed Ultron would be coming to Marvel Rivals, they didn't have many details to share at the time. The current image shows that Ultron's primary attack is a laser beam, while the character's ultimate attack will summon drones that both damage enemies and heal allies. If true, it seems Ultron will also have a flight mechanic similar to Iron Man's with the ability to slowly descend like Rocket Raccoon. It seems like the villain may also have an ability that allows a large drone to follow a designated ally, primarily healing the target while distributing smaller heals to additional allies in the area.

Ultron May Be a Strategist in Marvel Rivals

Many fans are excited about the prospect of another Strategist coming to the game, as some players feel the hero shooter is currently overrun with Duelists. A portion of the community has been asking for a role queue within Marvel Rivals, but the game's director said the team has no intention of implementing such a thing.

As fans have settled into the rhythm of Season 0, leakers have been digging through the files for clues about future releases. One leaker recently revealed that The Thing will likely be coming to Marvel Rivals as a Vanguard, while Human Torch and Mr. Fantastic may be Duelists. There's very little known about Sue Storm, but many leakers believe she will be released as a Strategist. With so much to look forward to, many fans are hopeful that Marvel Rivals will continue to succeed long into the future.
