Arishem is a power card in Marvel Snap that grants the player +1 Max Energy at the start of each round in exchange for filling their deck with 12 random cards. Stat-wise, Arishem has a Cost and Power of seven, making him one of the few cards in Marvel Snap with a Cost above six. This guide helps you harness Arishem’s seemingly unpredictable and uncontrollable effect to create a META-friendly deck and win matches.
Marvel Snap: The Best Phastos Deck
Phastos hasn’t quite found his place in Marvel Snap’s metagame, but this deck might help him perform up to the standard.
The Best Deck for Arishem
Arishem performs well in a Cost-reduction deck with Mockingbird and She-Hulk. You can assemble this lineup by teaming up the mentioned trio (Arishem, Mockingbird, and She-Hulk) with the following cards: Loki, Blob, Quinjet, Sersi, Blink, Ravonna Renslayer, The Collector, Nick Fury, and Shadow King.

Here’s how the cards in this deck synergize:
- Loki, Sersi, Blink, and Nick Fury provide an escape from undesirable Arishem draws.
- Quinjet and Ravonna Renslayer offer additional Cost discounts.
- Mockingbird and She-Hulk exploit Arishem’s ability to become super-cheap drops.
- The Collector and Blob feed off Arishem’s added cards to grow bigger.
- Shadow King is the tech card. (You can replace him with Shang-Chi.)
How to Play Arishem
A couple of notes regarding Arishem’s gameplay:
- Arishem can double a card. Adding a card to your deck doesn’t exclude it from Arishem’s pool at the start of the match. So, he can add another, say, Blob to your deck even if you already have one.
- There’s less than a five percent chance of drawing your cards in an Arishem deck. Since Arishem will add 12 additional cards to your deck, you will have a tiny chance of drawing your desired card.
Given Arishem’s mechanics, the best way to play him is to prepare for the chaos. There’s little to no way to control his effect, so you are encouraged to have a fluid strategy formed around Arishem’s randomness. This includes dropping tech cards whenever possible and relying on the base stats of cards rather than their synergies.
How to Counter Arishem
A reliable counter for Arishem is Darkhawk. He can earn +2 Power for each card in the opponent’s deck, which is the best response to Arishem as he fills the opponent’s deck with an extra 12 cards at the start of the match. However, another good counterstrategy for Arishem is running a junk deck. Since such junk lineups revolve around disrupting the enemy’s deck, they have a great chance of reducing the chances of drawing good cards for your enemy.
Is Arishem Worth It?
Arishem is one of the best additions to Marvel Snap in recent seasons, elevating gameplay with fun RNG-based unpredictability—a feature that Marvel Snap developers have aggressively exploited with recent releases. However, Arishem is only worthwhile for seasoned players. Since he can pull cards from any pool into your deck, he hinders consistency in strategies. To make the most of him, you need an excellent knowledge of all—or at least most—cards in the game.
