Marvel Snap Discard Decks
The current updated guide covers a new meta deck for Black Knight, the new discard-archetype card.
Due to the Discard effect’s RNG, it’s tricky to build consistent decks around it. Tricky, yes—but not impossible. This guide has the solution to exploiting this rather random ability and creating the best Pool 3 Discard deck ever so that players can make the most out of it.
Best Overall Pool 3 Discard Deck
To build the ultimate Pool 3 Discard deck, have Colleen Wing, Hellcow, Gambit, and Lady Sif as primary destroyer cards. And use them to buff Apocalypse, Swarm, Dracula, and Morbius. But for an element of power & counterattack, include Ghost Rider, Invisible Woman, Leech, and America Chavez, too.
The best Discard deck should look like this:
|

With this deck, the primary goal is to boost Apocalypse’s Power while duplicating Swarms. The Discard function buffs these two cards, but it passively adds to Dracula’s Power, too. In the lineup, Ghost Rider and Leech are support cards. And Invisible Woman is the element of surprise when the strategy is exposed. America Chavez, however, is only a win condition to cover weak locations.
Here’s how each card affects the Pool 3 Discard deck:
- Dracula: Discards a card at hand and absorbs its Power.
- Colleen Wing: Discards the lowest-cost card at hand.
- Hellcow: Discards two random cards at hand.
- Gambit: Destroys an enemy card and discards a card at hand.
- Ghost Rider: Summons a discarded card to its location.
- Invisible Woman: Conceals cards in the location.
- Apocalypse: Returns with +4 Power when discarded.
- Swarm: When discarded, duplicates itself and costs zero.
- Morbius: Gains +2 Power for every discarded card.
- America Chavez: Always comes to play in round six.
- Lady Sif: Discards the highest-cost card at hand.
- Leech: Removes the abilities of the enemy’s cards at hand.
Best Powerhouse Discard Deck
After the debut of Black Knight, Marvel Snap’s metagame experienced a slight shift toward discard decks with Lady Sif and The Infinaut. This killer combo with Black Knight guarantees a cheap 20-Power card that, when played before Taskmaster, can dominate any game.
To create this lineup, players will need to have Black Knight team up with Lady Sif and The Infinaut. They must then complete the deck with Taskmaster, Dracula, Ghost Rider, Blade, Zabu, Jubilee, Giganto, Armor, and Moon Girl.

Best Budget Pool 3 Deck
For a Pool 3 beginner-friendly and cost-effective Discard deck, put together Colleen Wing, Gambit, Moon Knight, Hellcow, and Dracula. And fill the remaining slots with Blade, Morbius, Swarm, Lady Sif, Sword Master, Apocalypse, and America Chavez.

The budget deck is best for players new to the third Pool. It follows the same basic Discard strategy—get rid of low-cost cards and add to high-Power cards’ potential. But the deck is viable and easy to handle. (First-time Discard deck users benefit from its simplicity.)
See what each card does in the budget Pool 3 Destroy deck:
- Blade: Discards a random card at hand.
- Moon Knight: Discards a card from both players’ hands.
- Sword Master: Discards a random card at hand.
- (For other cards’ abilities, refer to the previous deck.)
Best Pro Discard Deck for Series 3
A Lockjaw Discard deck is currently the most popular build among pro Marvel Snap players. To replicate it, have Lockjaw, Dracula, Colleen Wing, Hell Cow, and Moon Knight as the primary Pool 3 lineup. And complete the deck with Blade, Morbius, Swarm, Lady Sif, Sword Master, Apocalypse, and America Chavez.

The Lockjaw Discard deck is called “pro” because of its above-average RNG effect. Only seasoned players utilize Lockjaw’s On Reveal to control the board and avoid the negative Discard chance. But with the deck’s high risk comes a higher prize. Basically, mastering the Lockjaw Discard deck guarantees a win against most OP builds.
Here’s how the new card helps create the right Discard synergy:
- Lockjaw: Swaps a card in its location with a card at hand.
- (For other cards’ abilities, refer to the previous decks.)
Best Pool 3 Ramp Discard Deck
For a slow-paced Discard deck, go with Pool 3 cards Colleen Wing, Invisible Woman, Gambit, Black Cat, Dracula, Wong, and Hellcow. And escort them with Blade, Morbius, Sword Master, Apocalypse, and Odin. Thanks to Black Cat, Dracula, and Odin, this deck’s true potential unleashes during the final round.
The following table shows the lineup:

Unpredictability is what makes the late-game-win Discard deck a preferable option. The opponent will have difficulty predicting each move because Invisible Woman conceals a location, Odin reactivates some On Reveals, and Black Cat only comes into play in the last round.
Here are the most effective cards in this deck:
- Wong: On Reveal abilities at his presence happen twice.
- Odin: Reactivates the On Reveal abilities in its location.
- Black Cat: Self-discards at the end of the match.
- (For other cards’ abilities, refer to the previous decks.)
Best Pool 3 Cards to Include in Discard Decks
Among all Pool 3 options, Dracula is the best card for Discard decks because it gains +2 Power for each Discard. Other valuable cards in the third series are Gambit, Hela, Hellcow, Colleen Wing, and Ghost Rider.
Best Strategy for Playing with Pool 3 Discard Decks
For a guaranteed win with a Pool 3 Discard deck, choose at least two Discard-benefiting cards from lower Pools. Apocalypse and Morbius are excellent choices; they get buffed after each Discard. This strategy is best because strong Pool 3 cards like Destroyer are risky plays.
