Mirage is a 2-Cost, 2-Power card with an On Reveal ability to copy the lowest-Cost character from the enemy’s hand. (Think of her as the opposite of Leader.)

With this Marvel Snap guide, players learn how to build the most optimal deck for Mirage, play her effectively, and counter her with minimum damage.

The Best Deck for Mirage

best cards for mirage deck in marvel snap.

In Marvel Snap, Mirage works best in a Collector-Taskmaster deck. To assemble this lineup, players will need to pair up Mirage, The Collector, and Taskmaster and complete the setup with Quinjet, Angela, Sentinel, Forge, Kitty Pryde, Shang-Chi, Agent Coulson, Agent 13, and America Chavez.

Here are the synergies and combos for this Mirage deck:

  • The Collector gets buffed with Mirage, Sentinel, Agent 13, and Agent Coulson’s added cards.
  • Kitty Pryde buffs Angela while getting an extra Power per play.
  • Forge buffs one of the growing cards (Kitty or Collector).
  • Taskmaster copies the Power of a buffed card for an additional powerhouse.
  • Shang-Chi is the defense card to protect the deck against Devil Dinosaur—and other comparable counterplays.
  • America Chavez is the win condition for the final round.

How to Play Mirage

mirage card strategy explained in marvel snap.

Pro players often use Mirage as a reader card. In this sense, she’s played early to provide intel and expose the opponent’s deck. However, she can also be the element of surprise, mirroring the enemy’s strategy by copying their card(s).

When playing Mirage, have these in mind:

  • If the opponent has multiple low-Cost cards, she will copy a random one.
  • If the enemy is buffing cheap cards like Deadpool or Kitty Pryde, it’s best to drop Mirage later in the game when they are maxed out.

How to Counter Mirage

Mirage’s initial ability is On Reveal, which players can counter with Cosmo. However, it’s the card she copies that might need an actual counterplay. When Mirage is played, review the hand and determine the lowest-Cost card; that’s the one she has stolen and must be countered.

Is Mirage Worth It?

mirage variant in marvel snap.

As a 2-Cost, Mirage competes for a spot with powerful cards like Lizard, Angela, and Daredevil. And ability-wise, she must outperform Leader and Morph. Based on this tight competition, it’s reasonable to assume Mirage is not worth it. She is easily replaced and works best only in niche decks with high RNG.
