Scorn is one of Marvel Snap’s latest releases for October, a one-cost, two-power card with a discard specialty. When you discard her, she returns to your hand and buffs one random card on the board.
Marvel Snap: The Best Agent Venom Deck
Agent Venom, Marvel Snap’s October 2024 Season Pass card, can help Bast turn risky drops like The Hood into affordable win conditions in this deck.
As many Marvel Snap players expected, Scorn is a solid addition for the month, particularly for fans of the discard archetype. However, her plug-and-play nature in this specific archetype has made it challenging for all players to build an effective deck around her. To assist with that, we’ve put together a META lineup that can maximize Scorn’s potential and make her one of your reliable discard units.
Scorn (1-2)
Ability: When you discard this, return it to your hand and give +2 Power to itself and one of your cards in play.

The Best Deck for Scorn
To build the best deck for Scorn, include her in a standard META discard lineup featuring Dracula, Morbius, and Apocalypse as your win conditions. For a more effective outcome, fill the other slots with the following cards: Gambit, Modok, Daken, Blade, Lady Sif, Sword Master, Colleen Wing, and Proxima Midnight.

Scorn Deck Synergies
- Blade, Modok, Gambit, Sword Master, Lady Sif, and Colleen Wing are discard providers.
- Morbius, Dracula, and Apocalypse are the discard beneficiaries (and also your win conditions).
- Daken and Proxima Midnight are the surprise buff cards. They can provide additional Power in weaker locations.
- Scorn is the primary buff provider. You want to discard her multiple times so your played cards are bigger.
How to Play Scorn
If you're using a discard deck, Scorn is a plug-and-play option. Discard her as soon as you have a card on the board, and continue using discard providers to maximize her effect.
When playing Scorn, keep these points in mind:
- Scorn’s effect can be triggered while she's in your hand; you don’t need to play her before the discard action.
- Aim to play at least one card before discarding Scorn, as she can only buff cards that are in play. Discarding her when the board is empty means you'll miss out on her +2 Power reward.
- Scorn doesn’t pair well with Swarm. While it might seem otherwise, the duo can clutter your hand. You want to discard Scorn as many times as possible, but doing so with Swarm in play might lead to hand congestion.
How to Counter Scorn
A standard tech trio of Shadow King, Red Guardian, and Shang-Chi is Scorn’s primary counterplay. However, since directly countering Scorn can be challenging, consider using a disruption strategy instead. This involves targeting other cards that benefit from Scorn’s effect or the discard action in general.
Is Scorn Worth It?
Scorn is one of the strong releases in recent weeks due to her empowering synergies in the discard archetype. However, her main drawback is that she lacks flexibility; she’s not a plug-and-play option unless you’re already using a standard discard deck.
If you don’t frequently play discard decks, it’s best to skip Scorn. However, if you have a solid discard lineup, she will definitely enhance it and is worth the investment. For context, Scorn was one of the best-performing cards in the limited-time High Voltage event, demonstrating her potential as a powerful early drop.
