Venom is a 3-Cost, 3-Power On Reveal card in Marvel Snap with the ability to destroy all other cards in his lane and absorb their Power. Despite always being a popular destroy card, Venom climbed the meta to the top after his OTA buff in May. With this upgrade, he received 2 extra starting Power, transforming into one of the deadliest cards in Marvel Snap’s history. This deckbuilding guide explains how to use Venom to create the best lineup and have him fit trending cards like Nico Minoru.

Marvel Snap: The Best Man-Thing Deck

Man-Thing revives the toxic archetype in Marvel Snap; here’s how to use it for building deadly lineups.

The Best Deck for Venom

A surefire deck for Venom is a Knull-Death destroy lineup. In this setup, Venom teams up with Knull and Death as the powerhouses, and the deck uses Forge, Carnage, Killmonger, Deathlok, Armor, X-23, Nova, Sabretooth, and Nico Minoru to support them.

Here’s how each card synergizes with Venom:

  • Death: Becomes a cheaper card after each destroy and can be fed to Venom.
  • Knull: Absorbs all destroyed cards’ Power (including Death’s).
  • Carnage: Feeds off of other cards and gains +2 for each one he destroys.
  • Forge: Can buff his succeeding card by +2 Power.
  • Nico Minoru: Has spell effects that can buff Venom.
  • Killmonger: Prepares the deck for big cards.
  • Deathlok: Destroys all friendly cards in his lane.
  • Armor: Protects Venom once he’s maxed out.
  • X-23: Feeds destroy cards and gives +1 Energy.
  • Nova: Feeds destroy cards and gives +1 Power.
  • Sabretooth: Once destroyed, becomes a 0-Cost, 4-Power card.

How to Play Venom

Venom's card

As one of the best destroy cards, Venom has the potential to eat up other power cards, becoming a solo beast. The ideal way to play him, therefore, is to save Venom for a 3-card lane with 12+ Power.

In the current deck, players can drop Death’s Cost by destroying other cards only to feed her to Venom. This will increase Knull’s Power, turning her into a final-round finisher.

Alternative Cards for Venom Decks

The destroy archetype was quite stable until Nico Minoru was introduced. She’s currently one of the best synergies for Venom decks. However, Nico aside, other good cards for Venom are Deadpool, Falcon, Taskmaster, Arnim Zola, and The Phoenix Force.
