Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will have a strong presence at Tokyo Game Show 2025, while also planning on revealing new content, including new stages. The upcoming fighter was a surprising announcement earlier this year, capping off a Sony State of Play, as Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls represents a major collaboration between Sony, Marvel, and Arc System Works.

It's been a while, but Tokyo Game Show 2025 will see Sony reentering the convention scene in a big way after commonly choosing to handle announcements on its own through State of Plays and other direct methods. Sony recently revealed its TGS 2025 plans and looks to be bringing a massive booth to the show filled with upcoming games like Battlefield 6, Phantom Blade Zero, Resident Evil: Requiem, and much more. The highly anticipated Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls will also be at the event and have an updated demo with some new content as well.

Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls TGS Demo Features New Stages

According to Sony, the updated Tokyo Game Show demo of the game will feature some new content that fans haven't seen. Specifically, the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls demo will have new stages shown for the first time, though the post stops short of actually revealing any details or themes related to them. So far, fans have only seen ArcSys's unique New York stage and Marvel Tokon's core character roster so far, which is filled with Marvel Easter eggs and multiple stage transitions to help players get their assist characters faster.

In addition to new stage reveals, the updated demo will also finally make Ghost Rider and Spider-Man playable for the first time. While the duo were included in the initial Marvel Tokon reveal trailer, they were ultimately left off of both the public and closed testing session that the public was able to try out. As expected, both Spider-Man and Robbie Reyes' Ghost Rider look like they'll be bringing some more unique gameplay elements to the game, including more speed and big area effect style attacks.

Marvel Tokon Lineup

With an expected release date sometime in 2026, it's clear that Arc System Works is planning for the long haul. Similar to many of its other fighting games, like Guilty Gear Strive, Arc System Works plans to continue supporting Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls long after it launches. According to producer Takeshi Yamanaka, the developer is planning the next 10 years of support for Marvel Tokon, including a port to the eventual PlayStation 6 console.
