Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will have an accessibility feature that will allow players to slow down the gameplay. This was revealed via the updated PlayStation Store page for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which also detailed other accessibility features.

Both Spider-Man Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales by Insomniac had an extensive list of accessibility features that helped players experience the game in their own way. These features can be changed at any time during the game and their primary purpose is to make the game accessible for all gamers. For instance, Spider-Man: Miles Morales included accessibility features like Chase Assist and Enhanced Auto Aim that made the gameplay much easier. Consequently, Insomniac intends to do the same with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, revealing an exciting new feature coming to the game.

As reported by Insider Gaming, an updated FAQs section on the PlayStation store page for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 now shows the new accessibility features, which includes the ability to slow down the action in the game. Players will be able to experience the action at “70%, 50% or 30% of the full speed,” and will be able to revert to normal speed at any time. This feature was first introduced with Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, which was a big hit among the fans. In addition to this, the on-screen text in the game’s menus will also be read aloud with the help of the screen reader feature and audio descriptions will also be available for the cinematic scenes in the game.

Insomniac is also introducing a parry mechanic for the first time with Marvel's Spider-Man 2. So far, players only had the option to dodge attacks where a perfect dodge could immobilize the enemy with a web barrage, however, adding a parry mechanic will change the game’s combat experience drastically. Additionally, since players will have the option to slow down the action, parrying attacks could become much easier for everyone.

The game is also introducing one of Spider-Man’s biggest foes, Venom. Fans had already deduced that Harry Osborn will be Venom in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, which was basically confirmed via a trailer played during a concert hosted by The Game Awards. Peter will also have the Symbiote suit for some time in the game that will have a major impact on the story. Another villain confirmed for the game is Kraven the Hunter, who is terrorizing Manhattan with his henchmen.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 launches on October 20, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
