Marvel's Spider-Man 2 tells another exciting chapter of Peter Parker and Miles Morales' life as the titular web-slinging hero, while also introducing brand-new characters. Venom and Kraven finally made themselves known in Marvel's Spider-Man 2, but there were also plenty of fun Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the game.

Fun nods to Marvel's history, like the Wakandan Embassy and a statue of Stan Lee, help bring Insomniac's adaptation of New York City to life in a terrific way, but there is one specific feature that could make for an exciting Spider-Man 3 appearance. Spider-Man 2's impressive version of New York City fills nearly every corner with things to explore and see, but the Baxter Building is itching to play a larger role in the next game. The headquarters for the Fantastic Four can be found in Hell's Kitchen, and it could set the stage for more references to the superhero team in Spider-Man 3.

Spider-Man 3 Bringing the Fantastic Four Into the Fold

Revisiting the Baxter Building and Introducing Iconic Characters

It's currently unknown what new characters will be given the spotlight in Spider-Man 3. There have been recent leaks suggesting a new playable character, but when it comes to the many possible cameos, it's a total mystery. However, the existence of the Baxter Building creates the perfect opportunity for members of the Fantastic Four to finally play a role in Insomniac's Spider-Man series.

As the series grows, it only makes sense to include new characters from Marvel properties, and having a run-in with Reed Richards or Susan Storm could be exciting, even if just for a brief moment. It would be easy to include the superhero foursome by simply having J. Jonah Jameson or Danika mention them in some capacity on their respective shows. Although a brief cameo would be great, the Fantastic Four playing at least a side role in Spider-Man 3's story would be ideal. Insomniac has done a great job with adapting Marvel characters while still making them feel fresh, and a group like the Fantastic Four is just begging to be adapted by the developer.

The new live-action Fantastic Four adaptation is set to release in 2025, which will reignite interest in the superhero team.

Even if just for one mission, being given the opportunity to fight enemies with Mister Fantastic, Invisible Woman, The Thing, and Human Torch could prove to be one of the most thrilling moments in the game. Spider-Man's open world approach makes it perfect for featuring a variety of great characters, and the reference to the Baxter Building needs to be more than just a brief nod to the iconic superhero team, simply because of its potential.

Spider-Man 3's Predecessor Has Set the Stage For Many Potential Cameos

There Could Be More Than Just the Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four definitely present one of the most interesting cameo possibilities for Spider-Man 3, but its predecessor has been teasing plenty of potential character appearances. Spider-Man 2's Easter eggs could be setting the next game up for the arrival of Daredevil and Knull, God of the Symbiotes, with the latter being a compelling possible villain. With the teased introduction of Silk as a new addition to the Spidey crew, Spider-Man 3 is likely aiming for an interesting cast expansion.

It will be interesting to see how Insomniac chooses to go bolder with the next chapter. Spider-Man 3 has already set the stage for Green Goblin to enter the picture, and that could present Peter and Miles with some serious problems, especially if Knull gets added to the mix. The villains threatening New York City will likely be stronger than ever, and Peter and Miles are going to need all the help they can get in order to keep the city safe.
