One of the Masters of the Universe stars teases about their costume on set. However, the actor playfully did it without fully revealing the look.
Masters of the Universe is an upcoming live-action adaptation of Mattel's iconic 1980s franchise. The film aims to introduce He-Man and the world of Eternia to a new generation while taking inspiration from the original action figures and beloved animated series. Travis Knight, who helmed Bumblebee (2018), is attached to direct the film, with Chris Butler (ParaNorman and Missing Link) as the scriptwriter. The anticipated film stars Nicholas Galitzine (Prince Adam/He-Man), Jared Leto (Keldor/Skeletor), Camille Mendes (Teela), Alison Brie (Professor Evelyn Powers/Evil-Lyn), Idris Elba (Duncan/Man-At-Arms), Morena Baccarin (The Sorceress), James Purefoy (King Randor), Charlotte Riley (Queen Marlena), Sasheer Zamata (Suzie), and Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (Goat Man). Galitzine cheekily flexes his costume.
‘What A Joke’ Fans Approve Masters Of The Universe Movie Casting Except This Actor
Many loved the cast of Masters of the Universe, but they also expressed strong disapproval about the casting of one particular actor.
ForEternia.com, a website focusing on news and content for Masters of the Universe fans, shared a clip of Galitzine on X, formerly Twitter. In the clip, he poses in his He-Man costume onset. He did the back double biceps pose and some more poses to show off his buff body. However, his look isn't exposed because he did the poses behind the curtain. So, what fans see is just a silhouette of Galitzine. However, it is noticeable that he is wearing the superhero's trademark costume, a loincloth. His chin-length bob haircut is also evident.
He-Man is known for his ultra-muscular physique, like the bodybuilders and the classic fantasy hero Conan the Barbarian. His physique shows his raw power, confidence, and physical dominance. He can lift massive boulders, hurl tanks, break thick metal chains, and even beat beasts larger than himself. To display his muscular physique, they intentionally keep his costume minimal by fully displaying his arms, chest, and legs.
Aside from his incredible superhuman strength, He-Man has impressive stamina and a high tolerance for pain. He is also a versatile warrior with trained combat techniques and a natural leader. Fans were delighted with the Idea of You star playing He-Man in the upcoming movie. According to them, Eternia is in good hands. Many also approved of the majority of the cast members, but several were not pleased with Leto as Skeletor. One said Leto's casting was a "joke." Apparently, they were disappointed with his performance as Joker in Suicide Squad (2016) and in the flopped horror sci-fi thriller Morbius, so they were not confident about Leto playing Skeletor.
Galitzine, showing off his costume even from behind a camera, generates excitement among fans. They love his physical transformation because his muscular build is noticeable even by just looking at his silhouette. His costume is also promising because it gives a nod to the original loincloth costume. Even if Galitzine's shadow is all that's shown in the post, his appearance is promising. Also, he gives off the classic He-Man vibe that draws fans to the superhero. Galitzine's efforts to transform himself to embody He-Man on the big screen worked. In an interview with W Magazine in January 2025, he shared how he prepared for the role. He reportedly eats and trains a lot. He consumes 4,000 calories a day, but since he also lifts weights, he ends up hungry by the end of the day. He jokingly said there was "no pressure" portraying "the strongest man in the universe." Fans are excited to see Galitzine in his He-Man costume. Hopefully, his official look will be revealed soon.
