Amazing Seasun Games announced the Mecha BREAK "Global Storm" open beta test will begin on February 23 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. The upcoming Mecha BREAK open beta test will offer "the most complete look" at the game heading into its spring 2025 release window, with various modes being available.
Earlier this month, the developers at Amazing Seasun Games shared an update with fans to confirm Mecha BREAK's Xbox Series X|S launch exclusivity, which means PlayStation 5 gamers must wait until later in the year before trying out the new mech shooter. The PC versions will also be available day-and-date for Steam and Windows via the Xbox app, with cross-play and cross-save functionality between the Xbox and PC versions. Amazing Seasun Games also revealed that developers from Xbox are providing support for Mecha BREAK's development to ensure the cross-platform features work at launch. Nearly four months after the August 2024 beta test, players on Xbox and PC will be able to have another opportunity to experience Mecha BREAK before its full launch.

The Mecha BREAK Global Storm open beta test begins on February 23 at 2:00 a.m. PT / 5:00 a.m. ET on Xbox Series X|S and PC, and an end date has not been announced yet. According to Amazing Seasun Games, the open beta test will have the 3v3 Ace Arena and 6v6 Operation VERGE game modes available from the previous Mecha BREAK open beta, along with the all-new tactical co-op PvPvE mode called "Mashmak." Moreover, a new trailer was released to highlight this new Mashmak mode and confirm the open beta test's start date. In Mashmak, players will battle over the Mashmak Isles, which hold massive reserves of an eruptive and inorganic material known as Corite. While players vie for control of the islands, Corite is capable of causing destructive pulse storms. New equipment has been developed to ensure players can brave the hostile environment and excel in close-quarters combat against opponents.

All the gameplay features in the Global Storm open beta test will be available in Mecha BREAK at launch, including the opening tutorial and introduction sequence, character and mech customization, the explorable space station, three core game modes, a training room, and 13 distinct mechs. The developers confirmed that cross-play will be enabled in the beta as well, allowing Xbox and PC players to matchmake and play together. While playing the open beta test, players can obtain and choose from a selection of new weapons and equipment to suit their playstyle, similarly to what players experienced in the Mecha BREAK PC beta test.
PlayStation 5 gamers won't be able to try out the mech shooter just yet, but Mecha BREAK's planned PlayStation release for 2025 means that gamers won't have to wait a whole year for the console exclusivity period to end. Leading up to the PlayStation 5 version's release, the game is expected to receive multiple post-launch updates, and the upcoming beta test may give fans a positive and lasting impression of Mecha BREAK leading into the Xbox and PC launch.
