Whenever players complete a map tier in Megabonk, they gain access to various challenges in that same tier. Players can attempt these challenges in order to complete quests and unlock characters and other perks. However, they are also fun for players who want to add some challenge to the game and break the routine of simply playing the game and eliminating the Stage Boss.

Megabonk: Tips and Tricks

Take your runs to the next level with these helpful Megabonk tips and tricks.

One of the many challenges that players will receive once they complete the first tier of the Forest map is the Fragile Challenge, which can only be completed if players take down the Stage Boss without taking damage or ever touching an enemy. This guide will provide players with tips to help them get through this complicated challenge in Megabonk.

How to Complete the Fragile Challenge in Megabonk

Before starting the Fragile Challenge, players should know the exact rules, so they know what will cause them to fail the challenge. Players will fail the Fragile Challenge in Megabonk if they:

  • Lose HP
  • Lose shield
  • Touch an enemy
  • Lose health due to fall damage
  • Evade a hit
  • Reflect a hit
  • Use Megachad's flex ability

Since the challenge is set on the Forest map, most of the danger lies in hitting enemies, as most will only deal close-up, melee damage. However, these enemies can be overwhelming and hard to dodge, especially the slim monsters that come running at the player or swarm attacks.

Additionally, players have to be careful and watch out for the mini-bosses and the Stage Boss, as all of these have ranged attacks. There will also be exploding enemies at some point, but these can be easier to dodge, as they will only burst and deal damage if players get too close to them.

Below, players will find several tips that will help them get through the Fragile Challenge in Megabonk. There is a Fragile Challenge for each tier of the Forest map, but since there are no new enemy types, gamers have to reapply each tip until they make it to the next tier.

Purchase Toggle

The Toggle ability is almost mandatory for completing challenges in Megabonk. With Toggle, players can disable items and tomes that they've previously unlocked. So, they will still have the starting items and tomes as options in the upgrade offers, but they can still disable a wide variety of items, making them more likely to come across better options for their run.

This way, if players want to try out a specific strategy or disable offers that simply won't be helpful and are not worth being in the tome and item pool, they can disable weapons, tomes, and items at will.

Disable HP/Shield Tomes and Items

Once players have purchased Toggle in the Shop, they will be able to disable purchased upgrades. Since players can't lose any health at all, it won't be worth investing in shield, HP, or any regenerative healing item. Therefore, players can disable them to increase their chance of encountering useful items that will greatly improve their odds of succeeding at the challenge.

  • Here are the tomes and items that are worth disabling before attempting the Fragile Challenge in Megabonk:

    Tomes

    • Thorns
    • Bloody
    • Armor

    Items

    • Cactus
    • Demonic Blade
    • Demonic Blood
    • Leeching Crystal
    • Kevin
    • Quin's Mask
    • Toxic Barrel
    • Gamer Goggles
    • Chonkplate
    • Speed Boi
  • Here are items and tomes that cannot be disabled but should be ignored for this run:

    Tomes

    • Regen
    • Shield
    • HP

    Items

    • Borgar
    • Slippery Ring
    • Oats
    • Medkit
    • Golden Shield
    • Electric Plug
    • Coward's Cloak
    • Phantom Shroud
    • Campfire
    • Spiky Shield
    • Mirror
    • Za Warudo

The item above would either grant players lifesteal, more HP, regeneration, evasion, or require them to take damage. Therefore, they are not useful or would only be activated if players met the failing conditions for the challenge.

Pick a Strategy that Suits Your Playstyle

There is a wide range of characters in Megabonk, and each character will fit each player's playstyle. When it comes to the Fragile Challenge, players can either pick a faster character that is able to avoid enemies and ranged attacks or a character that can deal enough damage from the get-go that they won't even have the chance to get close to the player.

For players to succeed, they will want to choose a character that they feel comfortable playing, and that might be a fast yet fragile character, like Calcium and Tony McZoom, or a slower character with particularly useful weapons, such as Megachad or Ogre.

Invest in Some Agility

Even if players prefer to use their upgrade offers on their weapons and tomes, it is worth investing in their character's agility stat, since it makes it easier to dodge enemies, especially once Lil' Bark appears.

The Stage Boss has a strong, ranged attack that spreads across a wide area both vertically and horizontally. This is the hardest attack to dodge, so if the player's character isn't able to move fast enough, they will undoubtedly get hit and fail the challenge. It might not be necessary for characters such as Calcium to invest in agility, but slower characters, such as Megachad, Sir Oofie, and CL4NK will really benefit from it.

Players will want to keep in mind that enemies will spawn just about anywhere, whether it's in front of the player or behind them. This means that if they go too fast, they might just walk into an enemy and fail the challenge.

Ranged Weapons Are the Way to Go

Getting up close and personal can be particularly difficult when attempting the Fragile Challenge in Megabonk. This is exactly why picking ranged weapons for this challenge can facilitate players' lives.

Weapons such as the Wireless Dagger and the Slutty Rocket will attack enemies even if the player keeps their distance, making it a much safer option compared to swords and other weapons that require the user to get close to the target. If players are having trouble dodging attacks or hordes, they might want to avoid riskier weapons, such as the Sword or Aura.

Memorize Boss Attacks

Bosses will follow the player around the map; if they walk too far away from it, the boss will teleport closer to them. Therefore, gamers will have to learn how to deal with them. Each boss on the Forest map has different attacks, and knowing how they'll strike is key to avoiding each hit and making it out alive. Here is what players can expect from each boss's attack on the Forest map:

  • Chunkham the Terrible - Has a ranged attack that creates a bubble of mud that bursts, damaging and slowing down the player
  • Stone Golem - Has a ranged attack that causes stones to rise from the ground, following and damaging the player
  • Lil Bark - Has a ranged attack that causes branches to rise from the ground, either one or several across a larger area
