How to Fish in Metaphor ReFantazio?

Players will unlock fishing activity while visiting Virga Island on the 8/14 date in Metaphor ReFantazio, which happens only after unlocking Heismay as a Follower. Once this happens, Heismay will leave his fishing gear on the ship that you can use to catch marine ingredients while traveling on the sea.

You'll need to head to the port-side deck (northwest area) of the ship (part of Gauntlet Runner) to interact with the fishing rod. This will start the fishing activity where you'll sit beside Heismay, engage in conversation, and catch rare ingredients for recipes.

All Bait Types & Their Answers in Metaphor ReFantazio

There are 3 types of fishing bait in Metaphor ReFantazio that will attract a different combination of marine ingredients.

Worm Bait: Purchase from Bug-Selling Boy on Cattleracket Road in Martira for 100 reeve.
Grasshopper Bait: Purchase from Bug-Selling Boy on Cattleracket Road in Martira for 250 reeve.
Tail Bait (Rare): Get it by exchanging medicinal herbs with the man in Arenafront Wharf in Port Brilehaven. Players can also find it while cleaning the storage room with the Upright Cleaning Tool in the Gauntlet Runner.
