Metaphor: ReFantazio has enemies known as Imitecs, which seem like regular treasure chests in the overworld but transform into monsters when you interact with them. These fights can be difficult as you aren't able to attack them in the overworld and get the bonus damage and first turn.

Trove Imitecs are especially powerful and can be difficult enemies depending on your party composition as even the best strategy against them puts you at risk. Here's how to beat Trove Imitecs and what their weakness is.

Trove Imitecs have multiple Strike attacks that hit individuals and the whole party. They also have Sleepy Air, which has a chance of putting the whole party to sleep and will be a skill they use most turns, especially on Hard when they have an extra Press Turn icon. Trove Imitecs also have 3,000 HP, making them one of the tankier enemies that you'll fight at this level.

How To Beat Trove Imitecs In Metaphor: ReFantazio

The best strategy for beating Trove Imitecs is to bring Archetypes with Light skills, though you won't want to bring any from the Healer Lineage due to their weakness to Strike attacks. Your best bet is to level up a Healer Archetype and use Skill Inheritance to move a light skill over to another Archetype. Sleepy Air can also lead to major issues if most if not all of your party is put to sleep, so bringing Ren Patra one an Archetype is helpful, which is learned from the Cleric.

Archetypes from the Brawler Lineage are resistant to Strike damage, which will help greatly negate any damage done by the Trove Imitec. This lineage also learns attacks that are able to lower the enemy's defense when hit, helping to deal with the high health of the enemy. There are also many accessories in the game that can prevent sleep, which will also make this fight much easier. Bringing a General Archetype that knows Shelter Formation can also boost the party's defense by two ranks, helping further negate the constant physical damage this enemy deals.

Graced Water is a useful item used in purifying items at the church in Grand Trad, so bringing a Thief with the ability to Steal can help increase your odds of getting one.
