Metroid Dread is the latest entry in the popular Metroid video game series that many players are looking forward to. Players will be able to join Samus on another epic journey as the galactic bounty hunter travels to a mysterious new world filled with danger and new enemies lurking about. The game will feature the return of the classic villain Kraid, and Metroid Dread will also have a new villain who's a member of the ancient alien species known as the Chozo.

Metroid Dread releases on October 8, so players only have to wait a couple of more days before the official release this Friday. But some players don't need to wait that long. Recently, a few fans have shared that they have received their copies of Metroid Dread ahead of the game's official release.

Recently, a Reddit user made a post on the Nintendo Switch subreddit and shared a picture of their early copy of Metroid Dread. The user states that they pre-ordered the game from Amazon, and it was shipped to them early before release. When asked if they could play the game on the Nintendo Switch, the user replied that they can play the game fine and they haven't encountered any problems with the game, at the time of writing.

The user also shared a link to Imgur, which shows another image of the box's interior and the game's cartridge fully intact. Most of the reactions to the post were far from negative, with plenty of users taking a more humorous tone to the news and joking among each other and some even making fun of Amazon shipping. Some commenters also reported that they received their copies ahead of Metroid Dread's official release date as well. However, they didn't mention where they got their early copies from but are enjoying the game nonetheless.

At the time of writing, the user hasn't posted any spoilers about the game in the post or shared any images or videos of it as well. There are a couple of commenters who talk about the game but they also keep it spoiler-free, so readers can view the post without worrying about the game or its story being spoiled. This wouldn't be the first time that a major video game had some early copies released ahead of schedule. Games such as NEO: The World Ends With You and Biomutant also had some early copies that came out before their official release dates earlier this year, and now that includes Metroid Dread.

Metroid Dread releases October 8, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch.
