As you progress through the various regions of the planet Viewros in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, you'll likely encounter at least one Scout Bot. These deactivated robots can be found once in each region, but will not be of any use until you unlock the Thunder Shot weapon on your third visit to Volt Forge. Once activated with a blast from the Thunder Shot, a Scout Bot will survey the entire dungeon and reveal every item you have yet to collect. Where to Find All Scout Bots in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
Each dungeon has a Scout Bot that will reveal the location of every undiscovered item in that level. Below, we'll list out the location of each bot, and provide a detailed description of where you can find them.

How to Activate a Scout Bot in Metroid Prime 4: Beyond
To activate a Scout Bot, you'll first need to unlock the Thunder Shot weapon upgrade. This item will not be available until your third visit to Volt Forge, once you've collected the Psychic Grapple upgrade for the Psychic Lasso. The grapple is rewarded for defeating the final boss of Flare Pool, the fire stage.
With the Thunder Shot unlocked, you'll want to head to each Scout Bot and shoot them a single time with the electric shock beam. This will power-up the bots. The final step is to scan them with the Psychic Visor. Doing so will fully activate them, which results in a brief custcene showing the Scout Bot scanning the level in which they are found.
Once the scanning process is complete, the Scout Bot will fall to the ground and go silent. From that point on, the corresponding map will show a small orange cross on the map, marking any item that has yet to be discovered. This specifically pertains to upgrade items, such as MIssile and Shot expansions, as well as Energy Tanks.
