The Spider Ball is a Morph Ball upgrade in Metroid Prime Remastered that allows players to cling to Spider Ball Tracks. These tracks are used to reach various collectibles as well as new areas, and indeed fans will encounter several as they work their way to the next power-up. This walkthrough is here to provide a route to that power-up, and it will help players that are lost after getting the Spider Ball in Metroid Prime Remastered.
Metroid Prime Remastered: After Spider Ball Walkthrough
Upon obtaining in the Spider Ball, Metroid Prime Remastered players should survey the Quarantine Cave in order to find an elevated door that they have not yet used. This door can be reached by using the Spider Ball Tracks that line the walls of this arena, and it leads to the South Quarantine Tunnel. The Magmoor Caves South elevator is on the other side of that hallway, and fans should ride it down into the fiery biome.
After arriving in Magmoor Cave South, players should utilize the Save Station behind the elevator before passing through Transport Tunnel C on their way to the Magmoor Workstation. Here, fans will find some Flying Space Pirates as well three gates with colored lights and an inactive machine. Players should scan this machine, use the Thermal Visor to reveal conduits next to the gates, and fire the Wave Beam at each of them.
This action will send power to the machine and remove the lava flowing from the gate with blue light. Players should then assume Morph Ball form, roll under the room's grate, and enter the area that is beyond the blue-light gate. There is a terminal in this location, and scanning it will make it possible to roll into the area that is beyond the green-light gate. Again, Metroid fans will find a terminal in this area, which they should scan to gain access to the area that is beyond the purple-light gate. An Energy Tank is held there.
Players should now climb the stones to the right of the purple-light gate to reach a door that leads to the South Core Tunnel. Here, fans should wait for the Puddle Spore that is in the lava to open and then shoot at its center to turn the creature into a temporary platform that can be used to cross. Fans should use this same method to navigate through the Geothermal Core and reach the North Core Tunnel.
There are some large Stalactites hanging from the ceiling of the North Core Tunnel, and player should fire Missiles at their bases to turn them into platforms. Metroid Prime Remastered's Samus Aran will also use Stalactites to work around the Twin Fires, and fans should look for a Spider Ball Track on their left when they finally reach the Twin Fires Tunnel. This track can be used to reach the Tallon Overworld West elevator, which players should ride.
Players should now set their sights on the Main Plaza in the Chozo Ruins. This room can be reached by navigating through the Root Cave, heading down and to the left at Tallon Canyon, and riding the Chozo Ruins West elevator, and fans should look for a half-pipe near its center. There is Missile Expansion above the right side of this ramp, which can be reached with the help of Metroid Prime Remastered's Boost Ball ability.
Once that collectible has been claimed, players should enter the Ruined Fountain, get on top of the fountain, and assume Morph Ball form to reach the ceiling. There is a Spider Ball Track on this portion of the ceiling, which fans can attach to and ride to reach another Missile Expansion.
Fans should then head to the Watery Hall, which can be reached by passing through the Arboretum and Gathering Hall, and return to the elevated alcove where they obtained Metroid Prime Remastered's Charge Beam. There is a small circle on the right side of this alcove's wall, which players can destroy with a Morph Ball Bomb in order to reveal a Morph Ball tunnel. The Dynamo is on the other side of this tunnel, and it is home to two Missile Expansions, one of which is accessed by shooting a Missile at a structural weakness and the other is found at the end of a Spider Ball Track.
Players can now return to the Gathering Hall, stop by the Save Station, and use the nearby platforms to reach the door to the East Atrium. Fans that scan the wall above this door will find that there is a structural weakness in it, and they can use the red lights that flank the doorway to reach an adjacent platform. Fans must then simply use a Morph Ball Bomb in Metroid Prime Remastered to collect yet another Missile Expansion.
At this point, players should pass through the East Atrium and Energy Core in order to reach the Furnace. There is a Spider Ball Track here, which fans should use to access a Morph Ball section that requires quick movement across a series of disappearing blocks. Players will then find themselves in a larger section of the Furnace, and they should turn left, scan the Chozo Lore that is on the wall ahead, and use the Morph Ball tunnel that is under it to reach Crossway Access West.
After passing through this hallway and reaching the Crossway, players should use the half-pipe to reach the left side of the room. There are three Chozo Lore entries to scan in this position, and there is also a Cordite statue on the adjacent wall. This wall statue should be hit with a Super Missile in Metroid Prime Remastered, and the rune that is revealed should be scanned to cause a Spider Ball Track to materialize.
Fans of Metroid games should now use the half-pipe to reach this Spider Ball Track, ride it to its end, and then place a Morph Ball Bomb in the slot that is encountered. This process must then be repeated with a second Spider Ball Track that appears on the other side of the room in order to activate a special Morph Ball lift that can be ridden to a Missile Expansion .
Players are now free to use the door near the Cordite statue that they destroyed previously to enter the Hall of Elders. There is a Morph Ball tunnel just ahead and to the left, which fans should use to reach a Missile Refill station. Players should then jump down into the Hall of Elders and beat the Chozo Ghost in Metroid Prime Remastered that appears.
With this enemy dispatched, players should look behind the statue and scan the Chozo Lore that is on the wall. Fans should then jump into the statue's hands and use Morph Ball in Metroid Prime Remastered to get tossed toward a Spider Ball Track. This track leads to a Morph Ball slot, and players should place a Morph Ball Bomb inside to cause three colored Morph Ball slots to appear in another part of the room.
To reach these slots, fans should jump up to the area with the Missile Refill station and continue to ascend. Players should then hit the purple slot with Metroid Prime Remastered's Wave Beam and place a Morph Ball Bomb inside the slot that appears to open a new path. This path can be accessed by once again assuming Morph Ball form and getting tossed by the statue, and players should make sure to scan the terminal that they encounter in order to deactivate a shield.
Players should now make their way to the Reflecting Pool, jump into the water, and place Morph Ball Bomb on the grate from which a wire is emerging. This action will cause the pool to drain, and fans of action video games can then use Boost Ball in the half-pipe to reach the upper level of the room. There is a Save Station through a door on one side of this level, and the Ice Beam is in the Antechamber on the other side.
Metroid Prime Remastered is available on the Nintendo Switch.
