Comaqchi Carapaces are Equipment Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds that are used in the forging of various armor pieces and a weapon. While players may be able to collect a couple of these materials without issue, they may struggle to obtain enough carapaces to craft the items that are of interest. How to Farm Comaqchi Carapaces in Monster Hunter Wilds
Unlock "Dream Eaters" Optional Quest
The first step towards farming Comaqchi Carapaces is unlocking the Dream Eaters optional quest. To unlock this quest, players must reach Hunter Rank 9 and slay a single High Rank Comaqch i. Two of these small monsters can be found in Area 8 of the Iceshard Cliffs, just south of the ecosystem's Base Camp. While Monster Hunter Wilds players should be able to use the in-game Filter Icons feature to easily locate those two Comaqchi, Area 8 has been circled on the preceding map for the sake of full clarity.
Players should make sure to carve the carcass of the Comaqchi that they slay, as they always yield a Comaqchi Carapace.
Post & Complete "Dream Eaters"
After killing a Comaqchi, players should speak with Monster Hunter Wilds' Alma (who can be found near any Base Camp's Tent), post a quest, and select the newly-unlocked "Dream Eaters" from the Optional Quests tab. Players should then simply select "Accept & Depart" to initiate the quest and get transported to the Iceshard Cliffs map.
Players will now be instructed to slay eight Comaqchi, and those monsters will appear on the map as purple diamonds with green dots. Players should select one of the diamonds, set a waypoint on it, and then use their Seikret's Auto-move Mode to automatically travel to the marked Comaqchi. For full clarity, players can initiate Auto-move Mode by pressing up on a d-pad or tab on a keyboard, and the feature causes the Seikret to move toward the waypoint without any further input.
Upon arriving at the marked Comaqchi, players should dispatch it, and any others that are in the area, and carve their carcasses to gather Comaqchi Carapaces. The player should then open their map, set a waypoint on another purple diamond with a green dot, and use the Seikret's Auto-move Mode to travel to it. Players should simply repeat this process until they have completed "Dream Eaters," and they can post the quest again if they are in need of additional carapaces.
