Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is set to receive Jurassic World: Archipelago, an add-on that will bring dinosaurs and exotic islands, around late August or early September. This unique crossover will let players experience Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 with a pre-historic twist.
Over time, the Microsoft Flight Simulator series has become a hotbed of third-party content and user-created mods. From add-ons that allow players to go camping to those that bring outdoor sports to the game, there are tons of options to choose from. One prolific creator of such mods is Orbx Studios, an Australian firm that builds add-ons for various simulators and specializes in making content for flight simulation platforms. Its latest project is a Jurassic World-inspired pack for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: 7 Best Improvements To The Franchise
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 makes several great improvements to the long-running Flight Simulator franchise.
Jurassic World Collaboration Coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024
In a new announcement, Orbx Studios revealed a collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences, the co-owner of the Jurassic World IP, for a dinosaur-themed Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 add-on. The freshly revealed content, titled Jurassic World: Archipelago, will roll out close to "the end of August" or "the beginning of September" on the OrbxDirect website (PC) and the in-game marketplace (Xbox). It will bring Isla Nublar and all five islands of the Muertes Archipelago, which host six airstrips, twelve helipads, and a bunch of different dinosaurs—including Apatosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Dimorphodon, Gallimimus, Mosasaurus, Pteranodon, Stegosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex, and Velociraptor. In-game scenery tweaks have also been made to Costa Rica's Juan Santamaria Airport and Herradura Bay Marina. Further, there are plans to make identical add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and X-Plane 12 in the future.
With the Jurassic World: Archipelago content pack, Orbx Studios brings together two highly popular franchises. While this fusion looks likely to attract existing Microsoft Flight Simulator fans, this could also present a good opportunity for the simulation game to rope in new players by leveraging the appeal of the Jurassic World franchise. Crossovers with popular brands usually give a considerable boost to a game, which is something probably expected from Orbx Studios' MSFS 2024 add-on as well.
Apart from the forthcoming collaboration, Jurassic World enthusiasts may also want to mark their calendars for a new video game coming soon. Being developed for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox, Jurassic World Evolution 3 is a construction and management sim slated for an October 21 launch. On the other hand, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 fans can look forward to the game potentially landing on a new platform, with rumors of a PS5 port picking up pace.
