A new rumor indicates that Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 could be the next Xbox console exclusive to gain a PlayStation 5 port. Microsoft has been porting more and more titles to PS5 since last year, and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 could be an excellent pick for fans of simulation games.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is the latest entry in Microsoft’s popular flight simulation franchise. Released last year, Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 was review-bombed soon after its launch due to numerous bugs and server issues that prevented a major part of the playerbase from actually enjoying it. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 received mixed to positive reviews, and it currently stands with an average critic score of 76 on OpenCritic, offering a far more stable experience now than it did in its first weeks.

New Rumor Suggests That Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 Could Go To PS5
Now, it seems that Microsoft is eager to expand the player base of Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 even more. According to recent reports from the Polish website ppe (via Pure Xbox), Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will arrive on the PlayStation 5 in November 2025. The source claims that the release will have physical copies, but they will be sold in “relatively small quantities.” Unfortunately, it’s impossible to tell whether this rumor is correct, and ppe’s reliability is unknown, but there were previous indications that this could happen. Back in July, leaker NateTheHate said that M icrosoft Flight Simulator 2024 would come to the PS5 eventually, maybe one year after the original launch. So, the new rumor seems consistent with the previous one.
This move follows Microsoft's somewhat recent trend of publishing its games on the PS5. Back in 2024, games such as Grounded, Pentiment, Hi-Fi Rush, and Sea of Thieves marked the end of an era, receiving ports for the PlayStation 5 some time after their original Xbox release. They were followed by other incredibly popular titles such as Forza Horizon 5 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which landed on the platform earlier this year.
A few weeks ago, Gears of War: Reloaded was launched on the PS5. Gears of War has traditionally been an Xbox console exclusive, and many gamers were surprised to see it on Sony’s platform. In October, Xbox will take two more major games to the PS5: Ninja Gaiden 4 and The Outer Worlds 2. It remains to be seen how long the trend will continue, and if Microsoft will keep pushing the multiplatform approach in the future.
