Summary
- A fan recreated the world from A Minecraft Movie in-game.
- Fans appreciated the in-game creation, generating theories about the upcoming film.
A dedicated Minecraft player recreated the world from the recent trailer for the film adaptation in perfectly accurate detail, showing what the movie might look like if it existed as a playable world. The creation garnered thousands of views from fans online and demonstrated some of the issues many fans have with the way the Minecraft world looks in the upcoming movie.
When A Minecraft Movie debuted its first trailer recently, fans got an early look at the way the world and various other elements will look in the upcoming film, including Jack Black as the game's main character, Steve. The designs of many of the things shown in the trailer proved to be controversial among fans, as many said the world did not look like something that would exist in Minecraft.
2025 Will Be A Big Year For Minecraft Fans
Minecraft is already the most popular game in the world, but 2025 is poised to take the beloved title to dramatic new heights.
Nevertheless, Reddit user ThaMango took it upon themselves to recreate the world from the movie's trailer, sharing a screenshot of the handcrafted landscape to the official Minecraft subreddit for fans to see. The image in the post shows the massive stone archway seen in the trailer for A Minecraft Movie, along with various structures and what appears to be a village resting underneath it.
Minecraft Movie Trailer Comes to Life in Fan Creation
Fans in the comments took the opportunity to mention how the user's creation highlighted the issues with the world's design in the trailer, stating that structures such as the giant stone archway don't really exist in Minecraft. Additionally, many pointed out that the use of "mixels," or pixel art that uses multiple different sizes of pixels, is another major fault of the film's aesthetic, and that the user's in-game version looks better as a result.
Despite the fact that structures like the massive stone arch cannot spawn naturally in the game, many fans said that they wished they could, since it would be fun to explore and could make for interesting build ideas. Others came up with their own theories from things shown in the trailer for A Minecraft Movie to explain that Steve could have created the archway and the buildings around it himself, though whether this turns out to be true remains to be seen.
Of course, this is not the only movie-themed creation fans have made, as another player imagined what Jack Black's Steve might look like in Minecraft as an actual in-game character. In any case, the fan's creation appears to be very accurate to the trailer, and provides a unique way to explore the world of A Minecraft Movie before the film releases in 2025.
