In celebration of Minecraft's 15th anniversary, players can claim an exclusive, TikTok-themed cape until June 18. The same event has made other Minecraft items available, including another cape, a mask, and more.

Minecraft's 15th anniversary event runs for the next few weeks and aims to celebrate the game and its community. From May 15 to May 29, users can log in every day to unlock a new Character Creator item, with each item representing a different year in Minecraft's history. Users who may have missed earlier days' rewards do not need to worry, as these items are still claimable. Fortunately for Minecraft fans, there is still more to claim until the anniversary event concludes.

Minecraft Player Builds Incredible Replica of the Eiffel Tower in Survival

A dedicated Minecraft player created a massive scale replica using resources they gathered themselves in survival mode, impressing fans online.

Users can now claim Minecraft's TikTok Cape by watching Minecraft streams on TikTok that have the reward enabled. After viewing an eligible stream, users then need to comment "Minecraft" on it, after which they will receive a promotional code. Simply navigate to Minecraft.net's code redemption page to unlock the new cape in-game. As part of the same event, players can also unlock the Diamond Helmet profile frame by using this link to create a TikTok post that lasts one minute or longer and has the hashtag MinecraftBadge.

How To Unlock Minecraft's TikTok Cape

  • Between May 18 and June 18, watch a Minecraft stream on TikTok that has the TikTok Cape reward enabled
  • Then, comment "Minecraft" on the stream to receive a promotional code
  • Navigate to Minecraft's redeem page to enter the code and unlock the cape

And if players want even more reason to celebrate Minecraft's anniversary, Mojang has partnered with Twitch to offer another exclusive item, the Purple Heart Cape. Until May 31, users can unlock the new cape by watching 15 minutes of any Minecraft content on Twitch, and can also unlock the Glitch Mask by subscribing or gifting a subscription to a Minecraft streamer on Twitch. Mojang explained that these new items are available to use now in Minecraft's Bedrock Edition and will be available in the Java Edition by July 8.

Once the anniversary event concludes, players might not have to wait long until Minecraft's next major update, which is expected to be released in mid-2024, possibly in June. This update, called Tricky Trials, will introduce new weapons like the Mace, structures like Trial Chambers, mobs like the Breeze, and more.

As Minecraft enjoys a bit more hype than usual thanks to its 15th anniversary and approaching update, some say there is evidence that Minecraft could finally be coming to Steam in the near future. A Minecoin listing briefly showed Steam as a supported Minecraft platform before the listing was edited, leading to speculation that a Steam release could be on the horizon. However, at this point, this is only speculation and could have been an innocent error.

Minecraft is a game made up of blocks, creatures, and community. You can survive the night or build a work of art – the choice is all yours. But if the thought of exploring a vast new world all on your own feels overwhelming, then fear not!

Minecraft has no set goal and can be played however you’d like! This is why it’s sometimes called a “sandbox game” – there are lots of things for you to do, and lots of ways that you can play. If you like being creative, then you can use the blocks to build things from your imagination. If you’re feeling brave, you can explore the world and face daring challenges. Blocks can be broken, crafted, placed to reshape the landscape, or used to build fantastical creations.

Creatures can be battled or befriended, depending on how you play. The world of Minecraft allows for epic adventures, quiet meditations, and everything in between. You can even share your creations with other players, or play in community worlds!
