Google and various games have partnered in the past to celebrate their anniversaries, releases, and other memorable moments. For example, a Google Splatoon Easter egg let players splatter ink all over their search results, just like the Inklings and Octolings of the inky first-person shooter do in-game.

Now, Google is celebrating Minecraft with a neat Easter egg that lets players experience Minecraft within their search results. Anyone can check out the Google Easter egg by simply searching "Minecraft" in Google. Upon doing so, the page will pop up a small dirt block from Minecraft at the bottom of the screen. Clicking on it makes Minecraft Steve's arm appear on-screen, at which point players can tap anywhere on the screen to chip away at the search results window, like players hit blocks repeatedly in Minecraft to collect resources and clear space. Even Minecraft's sound effects are used, creating a thoroughly amusing experience.

Once the search results have been cleared from the screen by tapping on them repeatedly, the results are replaced by little windows into Minecraft's world. Players may see cliffs, cherry blossom trees, and various types of stone. At this point, tapping on any area of the screen selects a single block to destroy, emulating the way that Minecraft works nicely. Tapping on enough blocks can even give the user a pickaxe, completing Steve's iconic appearance and standard Minecraft gameplay.
