Firefly Bushes became popular among Minecraft fans the moment they were teased in a snapshot back in February. And, after waiting for what felt like forever, they are finally here. The Spring to Life drop has officially added them to the game, along with some other items like Leaf Litter and Cactus Flowers.
Minecraft: How to Get and Use Leaf Litter
Leaf Litter is a new decorative material introduced in the Spring to Life drop in Minecraft. Here's everything you need to know about it.
Firefly Bushes are mostly just for decoration. With their bright glow, they add a cozy vibe to your world. If you’ve ever walked around a swamp at night (in Minecraft) and seen little glowing dots floating around, chances are that you have spotted a Firefly Bush.
How Firefly Bushes Work In Minecraft
Firefly Bushes are little plants that glow at night because of the fireflies flying around them. Players can find them near water in places like Swamps, Mangrove Swamps, Badlands. They look really nice and add a cozy feel to your world. They are easier to spot at night since they glow a bit.
Once you find a Firefly Bush, you can break it with a tool or your hands. It doesn’t need anything special.
Alternatively, Minecraft fans can also get it by trading with a Wandering Trader. For players who don’t know, it’s a friendly mob that spawns randomly near the player. He sells all sorts of items that you don’t usually find easily. Players will need one Emerald to buy a Firefly Bush from him.
If you need Emeralds, you can get them by trading with villagers, looting buried treasure chests, or mining. The Wandering Trader also sells other plants, dyes, and random useful things, so it’s worth checking what he has.
How To Grow More Firefly Bushes
If you find a Firefly Bush and want more of them around, it’s actually pretty easy. For that, you will need to use Bone Meal on it, and it will spread to nearby blocks. Bone Meal is a Minecraft material that players can use as a fertilizer for plants and fungi. There are a few ways to get it, but one easy option is buying it from the Wandering Trader (if you're already getting Firefly Bushes from him). However, one thing to keep in mind here is that the trader doesn’t always have it in stock.
With Bone Meal, Firefly Bushes will grow faster and multiply on their own. And yes, if it’s night and there’s nothing solid covering the bush from above, it might even play ambient sounds now and then.
