How to Make an Observer in Minecraft

To get an Observer, you can craft it using some items. You will need:

6 Cobblestone
2 Redstone Dust
1 Nether Quartz

First, you will need to gather six Cobblestones. They can be mined from different places in the game, such as Monster Rooms, Strongholds, Jungle Pyramids, and Pillager Outposts. Players need a Pickaxe to mine it, which you can easily make at a crafting table. If you have extra Cobblestones, you can use them to build other items like Furnace and Walls.

You can get Redstone Dust by breaking the Redstone block in Jungle Pyramid and Woodland Mansion. Use your Iron Pickaxe to mine it. Each Redstone block will give you five to six Redstone Dust.

To get your hands on Nether Quartz, you will need to go to The Nether. When you mine it with a pickaxe, you get one piece of Nether quartz. If your pickaxe has Fortune enchantment, you can get more quartz. In addition to the Observer, you can use these white crystals to craft things like Daylight Sensors and Redstone Comparators.

With all the materials in hand, open the Crafting table and arrange the materials in the right pattern. Place three Cobblestones in the top row, then two Redstone Dust and one Nether Quartz in the middle row, and then last three Cobblestones in the bottom row.

How to Use the Observer in Minecraft

Observers work differently in Java and Bedrock editions of Minecraft, but the crafting recipe is the same in both. In Java, observers detect changes in the block directly in front of them and send signals. They can detect things like crop growth, fire, or block updates. In the Bedrock edition, on the other hand, Observers look for things that cause changes in a block.
