In Minecraft, you often have to create new tools because the old ones broke, but not everyone knows that items can be repaired. There are several ways you can do this, and we're going to talk about each of them. You can repair your items using several methods. You should learn how to do it because it will often save you time and resources.
Minecraft: Things To Do If You're Bored
Players who have been playing a lot of Minecraft and getting bored should try out these fun new activities to spice things up.
How to Repair Items in Minecraft
Armor, tools, and weapons in Minecraft have different durability depending on the material they are made of. Durability decreases with item use, such as breaking blocks with a pickaxe. Leather has the lowest armor durability, while Netherite has the highest. So, to repair your tools or weapons, you will need some resources or luck, depending on the method you choose.
Unit Repair
One way to repair items is by using the unit repair method, adding 25% durability with each material. Here, you can use Anvil or Grindstone stations, but keep in mind that the last one removes enchantments. Here are the resources you will need to repair certain items:
- Leather - Can be used to repair Leather items.
- Cobblestone, Blackstone, Stone, and Cobble Deepslate - Can be used to repair Stone weapons and tools.
- Iron Ingots - Use it to repair Iron items.
- Gold Ingots - Used to repair Gold items.
- Diamond - Can repair Diamond weapons, tools, and armour.
- Scute - Can be used to repair Turtle Shell Helmet.
- Netherite - You should use it to fix Netherite weapons, tools, and armour.
- Phantom Membrane - Used to repair Elytra.
Combining Items
This method consists of using two items to combine their power. For example, if you combine 2 Iron Axes that are half-used, you will get the intact tool. You can do this with an Anvil or Grindstone. Anvil provides a 12% bonus to maximum durability, while Grindstone has set bonuses. Enchantments transfer when combining items in an Anvil, increasing enchantment costs.
Minecraft: 8 Best Uses For Gold
Thanks to recent updates from Mojang, gold in Minecraft is more valuable than ever, with a variety of beneficial uses making it worth collecting.
Mending
The third and most advantageous method is the Mending Enchantment, which repairs tools by gaining XP. Equipping the item during XP-earning activities gradually restores its durability without losing enchantments. Mending is a treasure enchantment and cannot be directly enchanted on an item through the enchanting table. You can get it through chest loot, fishing, raids, or villager trading, with librarian villagers offering the best chance for a Mending trade.
Enchantments
While this method won't repair items, it will definitely increase their durability. You can use the Anvil to cast Unbroken enchantment on weapons or tools.
