Minecraft Legends is Mojang and Blackbird Interactive’s latest twist on the popular sandbox survival game. Minecraft Legends brings an RTS-like set of mechanics to Minecraft and preserves classic gameplay systems like resource farming and crafting but with a few changes. Due to the game’s new strategy genre framework, Minecraft’s staple resource gathering and building mechanics have been reworked and now rely on Allays.

Allays in Minecraft Legends are at the core of the experience, introducing the new Gather Allays, who farm resources like Stone, Wood, and Build Allays, who help the player craft and defend their bases. Initially, the player spawns in the world with only five Build Allays and five Gather Allays, but there are a couple of ways to find and earn more. Minecraft fans who want to be as efficient and prolific in their building and gathering as possible will want to maximize how many Allays they have at their disposal.

Where to Find More Allays in Minecraft Legends

Minecraft Legends Abundant Allay Improvement

The first and easiest way players can acquire more Allays is by building an Abundant Allays improvement tower at their Well of Fate. While some of the improvement towers in Minecraft Legends can get pretty pricey, the Abundant Allays one only costs 100 Stone, 50 Prismarine, and 10 Gold, and each grants +2 Build Allays and +2 Gather Allays when crafted.

What’s more, as long as players have enough resources to spend and room to spare at their Well of Fate, they can keep building the Abundant Allay improvement to boost further the amount of Allays they can use. However, there is one other way to increase how many of these helpers players have in their toolkits, but it isn’t as consistently repeatable as this.

Throughout Minecraft Legends’ procedurally generated worlds, there are multiple Allay and Piglin Chests inside each biome or in Piglin bases, which players will want to pick up. Despite being named Allay Chests, these chests and Piglin Chests can actually include one of multiple things, including Gold, Prismarine, or Gather and Build Allays.

Unfortunately, there is no way to know what the prize is until players open the chest, so this method of Allay gathering is generally unreliable. Additionally, if the chest has one or more Allays inside, the helpers will be Build Allays or Gather Allays but never both. Players may end up with a lopsided amount of these helpers toward the end of a playthrough, but they’re valuable nonetheless.

Minecraft Legends Piglin Chest Gather Allay

In Minecraft Legends’ PvP offering, players cannot find or acquire more Allays than the base three Gather and Build Allays they start with. Competitive multiplayer in Legends is balanced so that all resources like Stone, Iron, Wood, and Coal are shared between players; however, Allays are instanced per player.

If the player's team is working efficiently, there should be up to 24 total Allays in the field gathering resources or building defenses. PvP in Minecraft Legends is all about collaborating as a team, so fans will have to use their Allays intelligently to get the win.

Minecraft Legends releases on April 18, 2023, for PC, PS4, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.
