The worlds of Minecraft feature diverse landscapes for players to explore throughout the game’s many biomes. However, one staple that players will regularly come in contact with is villages. These small civilizations occupied by villagers offer players a variety of resources and can act as a respite from their long travels. They can be found naturally in a variety of styles and various biomes in Minecraft. Nevertheless, one player decided to make their own village in an unusual, albeit stunning spot.

A Minecraft player walks 10 million blocks, and images show that the world can get pretty weird after walking such a long distance.

In their most recent build, Reddit user JustTheRin created a giant tree with a village inside it. The creator shared a short video detailing the exterior and interior of the design. Based on the clip, JustTheRin built a large trunk for the tree that featured large leafy branches that extended high into the sky. In addition, a path was created that wound up the tree’s base to the village nestled inside its plethora of branches.

Minecraft Player's Giant Tree Build

While no mobs were present in the video, the giant tree featured many of the homes frequently found in Minecraft’s generated villages. Adding to the impressive design, JustTheRin included several holes in the tree’s canopy, allowing light to shine through. In addition, the user strategically placed glowstone blocks throughout the build, giving the tree an ethereal feel. At the end of the video, the player panned out to reveal the landscape surrounding the tree, evidencing the enormous size of their creation.

This recent giant tree build shows the creative potential available in Minecraft. While some players choose to play the more challenging Survival mode, JustTheRin appears to have utilized Creative, giving the player flight and access to all the blocks and items in the game. This choice likely made the task of building the tree more manageable, as collecting the amount of wood in Minecraft necessary for the base of the tree and its branches would be a monumental undertaking.

While players build impressive creations, Mojang continues to add new content to the game. For example, Minecraft recently added new Wolf variants to the Snapshot and Preview versions of the game, bringing new biome-specific designs to one of the more popular mobs. In addition, the developers have added new items for players to test out, such as the wind charge. Time will tell if Mojang adds any more items to the game that could make building easier in the days ahead.
