A dedicated Minecraft fan has shared a video of their recreation of NASA's Kennedy Space Center with the Saturn 5 rocket. Minecraft players have shared incredible builds since the game was released, but this may be among the most impressive for the NASA community.
Many Minecraft players explore their worlds in Survival and Hardcore in search of a challenge beyond building. The game also features a Creative mode which removes material limitations for gamers, allowing them to build whatever they come up with. Some builds have been utilized for educational purposes, including a human anatomy one from the Anatomy Institute of Semmelweis Budapest, and The Human Eye Minecraft Marketplace map. Other creations are focused on pop-cultural things, like the house from Pixar's Up, a Red Dead Redemption 2 town, and a Rocket League Arena. One player has decided to recreate the modern NASA's Kennedy Space Center to scale.

A talented Minecraft fan creates Plants vs Zombies models to be used in a map they are working on with other enthusiasts of the games.
YouTuber Bubbaflubba recently shared a video detailing their creation of NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Minecraft. This build includes multiple assembly buildings with accurate bays, a launch pad, the mission command control center, the crawler transport vehicle and its tracks, and a mobile launcher platform. This NASA Kennedy Space Center is modernized for 2024 despite the included rocket, the Saturn 5, being from the 1960s. The main building includes an accurate US flag, NASA logo, and the player used a popular Minecraft mod to ensure symmetry on both sides. Smaller details like industrial ventilation and pipes, individual garages, and mechanical equipment enclosures also contribute to the build's realistic nature.
What Minecraft Materials Were Used in This Build?
- Concrete
- Dirt
- Glass
- Grass
- Moss
- TNT
- Wool
This talented Minecraft fan utilized a blueprint of the design to map out where all the buildings and the rocket should go ahead of building everything. Given that much of this build consists of parking lots and flat areas, the YouTuber emphasized the need for texturing. This was done primarily by mixing colors in different areas, with grass fields including green Minecraft Concrete, Moss, and green Wool. NASA has many Space Centers located around the US, with the Kennedy facility being in Florida. Although many fans may see this Space Center as identical to others, the NASA community may appreciate the finer details that went into making this recreation of the Kennedy location.
Beyond sharing a video highlighting their Kennedy Center creation process, this YouTuber has also shared a download link for their map. As Mojang continues to update Minecraft with new blocks, future additions may improve texture work to make builds like these even more accurate.
