An interesting fan suggestion for Minecraft has recently garnered a lot of attention online, proposing the idea of a censer item that would allow players to burn potions and spread their effects throughout their homes. Potions have been a key mechanic within Minecraft for much of the game's lifetime so far, but Mojang has continued to develop the concept in recent years by introducing new potion effects and slightly reworking the ways they can be spread.

Minecraft's Tricky Trials update last year saw the addition of a few new potions, including the Potion of Infestation, which causes silverfish to spawn occasionally when affected mobs take damage. Additionally, the Potion of Oozing, Potion of Wind Charging, and Potion of Weaving introduced a variety of effects that can be triggered when an affected player dies, making them useful in multiplayer servers and PvP arenas.

Following Minecraft's Dried Ghast crafting recipe, Mojang could be in a position to give items like the Trident its own formula.

Although not a particularly new addition, Minecraft's many potions can be processed into lingering potions, which allows their effects to spread across a certain area and remain in place over time. The downside to these useful potions is that they require Dragon's Breath to make, and since this item can only be obtained from Minecraft's Ender Dragon, one fan known as DanceWeekly9774 developed a conceptual block that would allow players to make the most of their potions without having to farm the game's final boss for potion ingredients. This censer block would be crafted similarly to a lantern, requiring gold, gold nuggets, and a fire charge for fuel.

How This Fanmade Minecraft Block Could Benefit Players If It Ever Sees The Light of Day

The idea behind the censer is that players would be able to place one down in their home or perhaps at the site of an ongoing build, fill it up with a potion of their choice, and then leave it to spread consistently around the local area over an extended period of time until the effect runs out. An item like this could have tons of useful applications, from keeping a Minecraft player's base saturated with speed potion effects so that players can get around faster, to providing a consistent cloud of instant health that players could enter during a fight for quick recovery. Conversely, players could place censers stocked with instant damage potions throughout dangerous areas to ward off hostile mobs, or even implement them in automated farms.

With this idea having been posted as a suggestion on Minecraft's official website, players can even support the idea themselves. Some fans debate whether the item should be more difficult to craft, though, since the censer would essentially allow players to make use of what is otherwise considered an endgame item since the currently existing lingering potions require players to have access to Minecraft's End dimension and collect Dragon's Breath.
