Summary

  • Unique sauna and steam rooms in Minecraft can inspire realistic or industrial builds, using blocks like Copper and Prismarine.
  • Steam and water elements in the builds convey a hot and humid atmosphere, accurate to real-life saunas and steam rooms.
  • Mojang's ongoing updates introduce new resources for unique creations like saunas and steam rooms, tailored to different creative styles.

A Minecraft player has created unique sauna and steam rooms that players doing realistic or industrial builds may find inspirational. Because Minecraft has so many different types of blocks, players often discover new creations and this one may benefit some builds.

Many of the enemies and resources players may encounter in a Minecraft Seed have been around since the beginning, like Creepers, Skeletons, Zombies, Cobblestone, Oak, Birch, and more. Some mobs have been added to the game after a community vote, and developer Mojang decides the others. The latest example is the Creeking and Pale Garden biome, which are part of the current Snapshot build of the game. Copper was introduced to Minecraft in the Caves and Cliffs update of 2021, and it has since received an overhaul. One player has used Copper and other resources to create their own unique sauna and steam room.

Reddit user Flakeperson recently shared two images of their Minecraft sauna and steam room. The sauna features multiple benches made of Oak Slabs and White Carpet, with Stripped Oak Wood walls behind them. Smoke billows through the Oxidized Cut Copper Slab floors with Minecraft Campfires underneath that produce an endless heat source and a steam-like aesthetic. Water drips from the ceiling of both rooms, presumably with a water source above them. Both builds also include a central lantern, while the steam room has a bowl-shaped design and consists of Prismarine, Prismarine Bricks, Dark Prismarine Slabs, and Blue Carpet. As Prismarine is typically found in Ocean Monuments and Ruins, the steam room may be more difficult to replicate than the sauna.

Minecraft Player Made a Sauna and Steam Room

Notably missing from the sauna and steam rooms are Stoves that would act as the heat source, but Flakeperson confirmed that they recorded the footage from atop the Stove. Given the steam and water dripping in these rooms, they both convey a hot and humid atmosphere. The dimly-lit nature of both builds is also accurate to most saunas and steam rooms. As the steam room could be repurposed with some slight modifications to match a boiler room concept for industrial builds, this concept could suit multiple creative styles. While some Reddit users debated the differences between saunas and steam rooms, one suggested that Minecraft's Snowy Taiga or Village would be perfect places to build them.

As Mojang continues to update Minecraft with new resources that Survival and Creative players alike can build with, more unique concepts like this may continue to emerge. While Flakeperson didn't release a tutorial video for their sauna and steam room, the gifs may be enough for players with the right resources.

Minecraft is a game made up of blocks, creatures, and community. You can survive the night or build a work of art – the choice is all yours. But if the thought of exploring a vast new world all on your own feels overwhelming, then fear not!

Minecraft has no set goal and can be played however you’d like! This is why it’s sometimes called a “sandbox game” – there are lots of things for you to do, and lots of ways that you can play. If you like being creative, then you can use the blocks to build things from your imagination. If you’re feeling brave, you can explore the world and face daring challenges. Blocks can be broken, crafted, placed to reshape the landscape, or used to build fantastical creations.

Creatures can be battled or befriended, depending on how you play. The world of Minecraft allows for epic adventures, quiet meditations, and everything in between. You can even share your creations with other players, or play in community worlds!
