Summary
- A Minecraft player recreates SpongeBob's pineapple in impressive detail.
- The player previously recreated the Krusty Krab restaurant in Minecraft, showcasing their love of the classic animated cartoon.
- Both SpongeBob SquarePants and Minecraft have been very popular over the years.
A SpongeBob SquarePants fan has recreated the titular character’s iconic underwater pineapple in Minecraft, catching the attention of fans online. Thanks to its Creative mode, Minecraft offers players tons of liberty when it comes to building, and this fan has used that to pay homage to one of the most famous houses in cartoons.
The world of Bikini Bottom is full of bizarre dwellings, such as Squidward’s Easter Island Head and Sandy’s Treedome. However, SpongeBob’s pineapple is likely the most iconic. As the home of the titular character and his pet snail, Gary, the orange-colored abode is a centerpiece of many SpongeBob SquarePants episodes. It even features as the main storyline in the “Home Sweet Pineapple” episode, which sees SpongeBob’s house get eaten by nematodes. The pineapple's unique design has helped it become so well-known, inspiring many fans to create their own creations based on its iconic shape.
Taking to Reddit, a user known as Nukeri has showcased their own impressive rendition of SponeBob’s pineapple. The creation, which the player said was made using vanilla features, included the classic front windows and chimney of the house. They even included a front door, which they said was created using block and entity displays for the frame, while eyeblossoms from the new Pale Garden update were used for the valve on the front. Impressively, the player was able to replicate the smooth surface of the fruit by gradually sloping the blocks upward toward the leafy green part at the top. In addition, the pineapple sat on a sandy surface with the classic flowery background of the animated cartoon in the background, adding to the scene.
SpongeBob's Pineapple Recreated in Minecraft
This pineapple abode is not the first SpongeBob SquarePants creation Nukeri has made. Previously, they recreated the Krusty Krab in Minecraft, replicating both the interior and exterior of the restaurant, home to the famous Krabby Patty. The inside of the eatery even featured a recreation of Squidward working behind the counter as a cashier.
Given the incredible popularity of both SpongeBob SquarePants and Minecraft, it is no wonder that fans have created impressive tributes to the classic Nickelodeon show in the game. Mojang even added official SpongeBob SquarePants DLC to Minecraft in 2022. The purchasable content added a map and skins based on Bikini Bottom and its residents. With neither franchise likely to lose mainstream appeal soon, it will be interesting to see what type of fan creations each community comes up with next.
