Fans of the How To Train Your Dragon series of films have created an impressive recreation of Toothless, the lead dragon, within Minecraft. Numerous fans of the fantasy film franchise have shared their praise for the Minecraft rendition of the iconic Night Fury with the Minecraft designer.

Minecraft players frequently make builds of their favorite characters and landmarks within the sandbox game. How to Train Your Dragon has been a popular film franchise for quite some time now, but with the live-action adaptation of How to Train Your Dragon having just released in theaters, it's not surprising to see it highlighted in a recent piece like this one.

On Reddit, prolific Minecraft creator Kaizens87 x Niquoles shared their latest work, this time bringing Toothless, the Night Fury, to life. The blocky rendition of Toothless is spot-on to how the dragon appears in both the original How to Train Your Dragon films and the live-action remake. Toothless is perched, with its tail wrapped around the base of its body, while it looks on ahead at something. The overall build of the dragon is an excellent likeness, with the artists even including the tail contraption that Hiccup built for Toothless, as well as Toothless' iconic "blep" expression, with its tongue sticking out.

Minecraft Fans Are Excited About Toothless

As mentioned, many users have complimented Kaizens87 on the creation, acknowledging the detail and accuracy in particular. Several asked about how it was made, wondering if the user had used third-party tools to build it. Kaizens87 claims it was made without the use of external programs, and was built in Minecraft's creative mode. However, the actual images shared are taken from outside Minecraft, as the user exported their completed work into the Blender animation and modeling software to take these shots. That's also how the author was able to make Toothless' eyes glow.

For other fans of Minecraft and How to Train Your Dragon, players can download the model from the user directly via the creator's Patreon. While it's on Patreon, users don't have to spend money to get it, as they can access it with a free account. However, those who prefer to stick with official Minecraft releases are also in luck, as the game has seen multiple DLC for How to Train Your Dragon. This includes Minecraft How to Train Your Dragon DLC for the new 2025 movie, as well as an older 2021 Minecraft DLC release based upon the Dragons animated TV series that spun off of the first film.
