Reddit user klight101 shared an inventive concept for waterproof redstone dust. According to their idea, Minecraft players would use Grindstone to turn one copper ingot into four coppered dust. By combining one coppered and one redstone dust on the crafting table, with players getting an item called coppered redstone dust. While the redstone dust would get this upgrade, it would have the catch; the ability to oxidize over time, gradually reducing the strength of the signal. To avoid this, the Minecraft player would combine honeycomb and coppered redstone dust on the crafting table, making it waxed.
Inventive Minecraft Concept Creates Waterproof Redstone Dust
The idea of waterproof redstone dust sparked a debate among Minecraft players. One Redditor suggested the idea of a copper ingot and redstone dust becoming redstone wire, a concept similar to the OP's, but which wouldn't oxidize and could climb walls. Another comment idealized a combination in which wires made from redstone and copper would have the former carrying the signal, with the latter strengthening it. In a third suggestion, a Minecraft player suggested using copper ingots to craft wires, which would become waterproof when combined with dried kelp.
