How to Easily Find Diamonds in Minecraft

How to Effectively Strip Mine for Diamonds in Minecraft

Diamond Ore can be found anywhere between the Y-Level 15 and below, but Diamond Ore is much more common the lower players dig. This means that the most optimal way to get Diamonds in Minecraft is to start strip mining on Y-Level -58. Strip mining is a process in which players use their Pickaxe to dig in any direction with a 2x1 block radius so that they can continuously walk through a narrow pathway. This is a great way of finding Diamonds, as players will have a view of 8 potential Diamond Ore veins just from a straight line, as they have up, down, forward, left, and right to look to.

Players should always strip mine for Diamonds at Y-Level -58 and -59, even though Diamonds can be found commonly in -50 and below, it’s the most optimal route to mine between Y -58 and -59. To extract more Diamonds from the Diamond Ore, be sure to use a Pickaxe with Fortune 3 from an Enchanting Table, as this provides the highest gains from Diamonds, but always remember that Diamonds can only be collected from a Pickaxe that’s either Iron, Diamond, or Netherite.

It’s also worth noting how Diamonds spawn in a Minecraft world, as although they can appear on the surface in caves, Diamonds spawn more frequently when they have no air exposure. This means that Diamonds can be commonly found by strip mining at lower levels, and through the exploration of deep underwater caves, as there is no air exposure to halt large Diamond Ores from being clustered together.

Players can see their coordinates in Minecraft Java Edition by pressing F3, and in Minecraft Bedrock Edition, they can activate Show Coordinates from the in-game settings.
